Yeah , but who tells you when a horse has a chemist’s shop up its ass. That’s when form goes out the window.

In the case of horse racing there are formulae. I had a relatively r who was a prof of comp science and his favourite pastime was following the horses (family owned horses etc) and putting on small bets. He had all his parameters set and made calculations based on the variables of the day, and would invariably have won a small amount. He showed me his system, his bets and winnings, of which he assiduously kept a record.

I know people who do the 3 numbers in the bookies, but they stick on a couple of quid, not 25 a pop.

This guy wasted a pile of cash trying to win, if he was betting 25 a time. He may have won 42k in July, but he spent thousands trying to win it. We'll never know how much, cos Joe assumed he won it on his 1st attempt.

Sure, hasn't Joe already won the lotto.

Just another asshole with a 'system', time and again proven to be utter bollocks.

Joe spends 30 minutes lashing into the Lotto with reckless abandon.

Listens to the Yankee Doodle Spoofer for 3 minutes.

Joe is sold and gets him to pick out numbers for this weeks draw.

€400,000 a year for quality broadcasting such as this.

Piss off Joe. Why ask him, then?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,977 ✭✭✭minikin

He’s only spent 4.3 million to win that 100,000

Horse racing isn't the same as the lotto. There's a skill in horse racing, especially handicap racing.

Basically, the handicappers judge horses and assign them weights so they should theoretically all cross the finish line at the same time. If someone is more knowledgeable than the handicappers and think a horse is carrying to much weight, they can put money on the horse and win that way.
