Import fees on magazine from the UK ?

Hi all,

Are there the same import fees on magazines coming from the UK as there are on other items ?

Sorry - meant to add I'm asking as I recently received a magazine from the UK and I had to pay around 1 Euro + 3.50 An post handling fees - pretty much makes any magazine sub from the UK totally pointless as the fees are about the same cost as the magazine

Yes, a magazine is a product subject to normal import procedures when coming from a non-eu country.

The larger UK magazines will distribute from specialist distribution services in Netherlands.

Only option is that they put it in an envelope rather than a see-through sleeve and send it to you as simply a large envelope. - Is the magazine available online instead?

I know this doesn't directly answer your question but if you get a lot of magazines take a look at a Readly subscription. 9.99 a month for as many magazines as you want. Beats paying 40-50 euro a month for 5 or 6 magazines in Easons.
