Shin Guards or Shin Pads

    One of the parents in the school group just asked about "Shin Pads".

    I've always called them Shin Guards. Is this a hurl/hurley thing or is the parent just not au fait with the beautiful game?

    Very interchangeable in my experience, and football coaching is my full time job.


    I find shinpads flows off the tongue better but shinguards is more explanatory for the kids.
