Illness Benefit & leaving the state

    I believe I can leave the state while on illness benefit? But permission needs to be sought?

    Can anyone enlighten me how this permission can be gained?

    And typically for what reason(s) approval can be obtained?

    Looking to leave for approximately 12 months, and have illness benefit up until the end of 2022.

    It's a genuine reason. Family related. And staying within the EU.
