Knowing that there is no direct bus from Knocknacarra/Salthill to Parkmore, does anyone know if there is car sharing or taxi share website ?

The companies network there will be of more use in terms of finding folks who commute

401 Bus goes from Salthill all the way,

if your looking for a car share best thing to do is where ever you are starting stick up a notice if anyone wants to car share and offer to pay upfront.

I work in Parkmore and sick of hearing stories of people car sharing discussing people not paying blah blah...

No harm in investing in a bike btw

Bike to Blackrock and 401 bus might be a combo that works if you're not up for a longer cycle. Or ebike.

I think an e-bike could be a real alternative for a fraction of the cost of a car. They seem much more mainstream and the technology is mature. For 2 grand you could get a great option which would open up all of Galway to you. A couple more points: there was a study that showed that e-bike riders got more exercise than previously thought. Yet hopefully with the electric assist you wouldn't arrive at the office looking a sweaty mess.

There are Brite ebikes available around the city now if you wanted to try out an ebike for a few euro. They've stations out as far as Cappagh Stores. Would be expensive to use rentals for that daily commute though.

Sorry for turning this into a cycling thread but trying to be helpful!

Just to add - €1500 of that cost can go through the cycle to work scheme now too and save up to nearly 50% on that, depending on your income tax rate. Most workplaces will arrange for the final cost to be spread over the year's payslips too.

To return to your question OP, I do not believe there is any car-sharing or taxi-sharing website.
