HKC Alarm key zone

Hi,

I'm trying to setup remote arm/disarm using a key zone and an ESP8266.

I'm wondering how do I trigger it? Just short the zone wires with a relay? Do a need a resistor in the mix? And for how long does it need to be shorted to trigger?

You would need a relay with a dry contact connected to the zone in the panel.

There's surprisingly little diagrams or documentation on the use of key zones. Unless I'm looking at the wrong manual.

Its a very dated way of setting and unsetting the alarm but will work.

The wifi relay is probably switching a voltage where as the panel needs to see a volt free switch/ dry contact.

Sure it's not bleeding edge but options are limited when you don't want yet another subscription for their app and/or constantly top up a SIM card for GSM module.

I know konnected.io is a thing but looks very involved.
