Get 6 months free of the athletic using an Australian VPN and the following link.

This is a promotion currently in Australia but it is bypassed by the vpn and can be used thereafter for viewing content without reconnecting.

A payment method is required but I used a virtual Revolut card so I’ll never be charged, you can cancel the subscription anytime.

The Athletic is a premium sports news website and app. I've never used the athletic personally but free is free!

No problem, first time trying the athletic myself so good to test it for 6 months to see what it’s like :) you also get some podcasts like “the totally football show” advertisement free via the app.

There should be a way to filter nonsense. I follow a team and every 2nd or 3rd day I get an email or a notification on my phone for a new article, open it and it's about the ladies team. FFS can people no longer admit that it's not the same thing any more? Can't see a way to unfollow either.

Yeah, I did in the end, I used Kiwi, but I am still logged in on Bromite and I don't want to clear history yet, as I haven't bookmarked a load of stuff, like recipes and information on things I am looking into etc. I should have bookmarked them as I was going, but they appear fairly handily as is, but to bookmark them now would take ages. Daft I know.

Anyway, I can't log out in the browser and it's a niggling annoyance.

I don't use the app. I too was talking about the browser. I am on Chrome browser on macOS (desktop) and can see that top left 'you' link just fine. What do you see?

My 90 days ran out a few days ago, and I just used the same link again to sign up for another 90 days for free, then cancelled straight away again.

It is possible to keep repeating, with the same account. I do find when you log in after clicking the link it tries to give you 7 days for free, just go back in and you get your 90 days.
