Loads of great mid-priced options now.....

Benhrama, Raphina, Greenwood, Pogba, Mount, Sarr, Barnes, Gundog, Torres, Alli

I didn't do it yesterday in the end, so I'll probably hold off now at this stage until after GW3 at least. A big factor in the thinking was his price drop last night. Plus, when Raphinha is 6.5 and Barnes is now 6.9, the drop doesn't affect that exact transfer.

But thanks to some posts in here, I said it was better to give him the game against Norwich. That game could kick him into form. Also, the main reason why Barnes price dropped was people selling him for Benrahama. I already have Benrahama so I didn't need to make that transfer and Barnes now becomes the differential, if he returns of course.

Why do people think that Barnes is better shout than Maddison - both priced the same, and i thought that Maddison was on more set plays (could be wrong), but yet i don't see Maddison in any teams? He could equally be the one to kick on. Last season if i recall that they were both player well and returning and pushing each other - this season just looks like no interest... maybe transfer talk is affecting Maddison.

Oh totally agreed, wouldn't be in favour of hits myself. Just that referring to the number of places you will drop in OR early in the season shouldn't be part of the decision making process.

Veltman dropping tonight so might use my other FT. Have 4.9m to spend on a def.

Wolves and Leeds have nice fixtures but their defensive records aren't great. Firpo or Semedo are quite attacking.

Maybe Dier/Sanchez would be a safer bet?

Did Mahrez and Toney out and DCL and Greenwood in. Feels a bit kneejerky on Toney but DCL looks like going up to 8.2m tonight and its a transfer I likely would have done next week anyway, his fixtures are pretty good for the next 7 gameweeks. Plus if Toney blanks again the exodus off him will likely mean a price decrease.

Theres only two games of data but DCLs stats are looking really good and he is officially on penalties which gives him a slight edge over Ings who is no.2 to el Ghazi if he is on the pitch

Did Ings out DCL in. Was planning to do it next week but DCL on penalties has convinced me to move now. I've a feeling he might go on a run like he did early last season.

First transfer of season and it is a boring one of

    Omabadele ——> Livramento

    Long live the 4.0mil defenders.

Going to give Barnes & Mahrez another chance this week and will most likely go Ings to DCL over the IB with 1 of my 2 transfers.

Did Jota, Toney and Veltman to DCL, Benrahma and Liveramento

Any insight into if Duffy loses his spot when Veltman comes back or is it all just guesswork?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,029 ✭✭✭✭Ace2007

just guesswork at this stage, the more he performs well the harder it is for Veltman i guess. Is there any system where the two of them could play together? Webster/Dunk are probably guaranteed starters

Veltman could go in at RWB ahead of Groß when back. Groß maybe back into midfield.

I avoided Maddison as he was rubbish when he came back from injury last season, I somewhat ignorantly went with Barnes based off his form before his injury.

Veltman to Ayling done and carrying the other FT. Plan is Ings/Barnes to DCL/Sarr then if the IB goes ok.

I'd say Duffy will keep his place until he has a bad game. If he was to switch to 442 I think he'd drop out too.

All this talk about Ronaldo moving to City - would he be put in the game as a striker or midfield player if the move did go through?

Thinking of going Gundog to Fornals instead of Benrahma as a differential......anybody want to talk me out of it??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,081 ✭✭✭GetWithIt

Fornals is going to spend the next 36 game weeks assisting all of Benrahma's assists

Yeah differentials away from obviously better picks at this stage of season is madness. I just don't even understand people using that word at this stage. Play your own game. Just go for the player who you think will get most points. Benhrama is outscoring Fornals easily and is playing in the Lingaard role - it's proved to be an incredibly fruitful role in the WH system.

Going for a "differential" at this stage of the season is 90% just going to cause you to lose massive ground.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,101 ✭✭✭✭Cartman78

Thanks....that doesn't sound great in fairness.

I've only seen highlights of West Ham so far so wasn't sure of his exact role....I'll stick with the masses so

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,107 ✭✭✭✭callaway92

Would be picking Bowen ahead of Fornals anyway

Even at that - You may have missed the Benrahma train so Bowen mightn't be a bad shout

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,768 ✭✭✭✭Muahahaha

Id go Benrahma too, Fornals was lively v Leicester but his goal came from him occupying Antonios position in the box, he wasnt always getting that deep upfront.

If going for Benrahma (or Antonio) they are both over 100% for their second price rise this week, it may or may not happen tonight but it looks highly likely before the deadline

Struggling here with my decision making.

2FT. White, Veltman and Tsimikas are issues. Barnes is also an issue. I don't have benrahma. Frontline is Wilson, Toney and Antonio.

Dilemma is whether to hold Barnes altogether and sell Barnes / Sarr for Benrahma and do white or Veltman to livramento. Or just do a defender transfer and save one for GW 4. I have 1m in the bank as well for this.

    Any help appreciated

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 665 ✭✭✭joeyboy11

I have the same frontline and upgraded Toney to DCL (funded by Jota to benrahma)

    Also changed Veltman to liveramento.

I would stick with white as his fixtures really improve on gw 4.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,819 ✭✭✭dr.kenneth noisewater

I'd say change Tsimikas or Veltman and carry the other FT into the IB

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,363 ✭✭✭Jim Gazebo

I went Veltman to Duffy and Barnes to Benrahma. 🤞

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,713 ✭✭✭Sawduck

    Might do

    Shaw - Dier

    Harrison - Benrahma

I'd do Tsimikas to Livramento to switch a probable non-playing 4.0 to a playing 4.0 (pre price changes for both). Veltman will be back playing soon, and White will too, coupled with a nice turn in fixtures.

That will leave you with 2 FTs coming into that international break. Barnes could return against Norwich. I hope he does. Having those 2FTs during the break will allow a mini wildcard of sorts for a -4 and you'll have the knowledge that you'll have White, Veltman & a playing 4.0 defender. Leaving you only needing to change MID/ATT and not DEF. You will know more about Ronaldo / Lukaku / Kane then too which could affect your plans.

Not sure on prices but eg Barnes could become a 4.5 which allows you to upgrade Toney to Ronaldo with Wilson switching to Dennis and you play Ronaldo & Antonio upfront.
