Prompt for browser on google pixel 4a

Hello. I have a google pixel 4a with the latest updates. I have chrome and firefox installed. I want android to ask me which browser to use each time i click a link. Android seems to make me pick one to use all the time. Can anyone help? Hope this makes sense. Thanks. (Ps enter key doesnt work on this new boards mobile theme for some reason)

I want it to prompt me for a browser each time i click a link. The example above means i have to pick a browser to use all the time.

There doesnt seem to be an "ask every time" option like i would have had on other android phones

When I install a new browser it asks every time until I pick one. Maybe reinstall a new browser.

Since android 12 this issue is back and the fix i used above isnt working. Any ideas? Thanks

There's a few things on Android 12 that have gone backwards and that's the most annoying. Hate having to set a default browser.

Best way around it is to have chrome as default, then go to settings, apps, chrome and disable it as a browser.

It works because chrome is installed by default and cannot be uninstalled, if you try with any other browser you just get the option to uninstall.

You'll now be asked each time.

Hopefully enough people will disable chrome so they put it back to the old way!
