Great to see Alonso still up there, I remember watching him vs Schumacher when I was a kid!

Jesus. That's a huge spin from Perez. Norris has jumped onto 5th ahead of Alonso.

Hopefully Russell can stay in the top ten

Fair play to checo to be able to keep it out of the wall.

Disaster for Perez and RB! Didn’t look like he did much wrong there either.

Aye he did well to recover it, but a very costly mistake

Finishing sixth should be good for Ricciardos confidence, badly needed with how the season as been so far

Whatever the reason (and without insulting young people), the ways people consume media is changing and F1 is correct to react to that reality.

I'm posting this in the race thread where people typically watch the race and comment on social media at the same time. That's part of this new way of consuming entertainment. No mentions of attention spans or inability to sit. Just describing the changing trend in preference.

Perez will need to get to work early tomorrow given where he is if he wants to be of any help to max.

Fair play to Leclerc keeping that ferrari in 4th

I think Mercedes will be a bit shocked at the distance between Max and Lewis. Red Bull have the race pace, and if they can manage their tyres tomorrow they could land a huge blow in the title race.

I'll bet some questions will be asked by F1 pundits the world over about the genius start from Alonso which had unfolded right in front of us. He must have been given some miracle dust to get that far to get to finish at his current grid position for tomorrow's race.

I'm happy to say that, as a Ferrari fan, LeClerc will remain in 4th for tomorrow's race once this race is over.

Nice bit of business from max today.

The fact the tyres are blistering that badly with just 17 laps suggests tomorrow's going to be a minefield

Perez bottled it. Surely a dangerous maneuver when he rejoined the track too. Nightmare weekend for him so far.

Some big winners and losers in that race. Alonso did great to gainnall those places frommthe start.

I wonder if RB retired Perez to gain an advantage in setup or something similar. Horner just called it a "tactical retirement".

Did anyone on the soft tyres run out of tyres at the end?

    Meh.

    That was a mess.

At the end of all that risk nothing was achieved that real qually doesn't do.

I am not a fan of it
