Looks really interesting imo. I'm not going to try and get my hands on one straight away, but receptions seems to be pretty positive so will definitely keep an eye on it and might get one if they revise the hardware in future. It's basically a handheld with Steam installed that lets you play your entire Steam library, have also read it isn't locked down so users can install other software. From the videos it looks pretty huge for the moment, but the price is pretty affordable anyway.

Will see how it goes for a while before dipping my feet into it. Could be worth a look given that graphics cards are like hens teeth at the minute.

Looks like a great way to get into AAA gaming without spending a fortune on a capable PC

It'll be interesting to see how it all works with the proposed dock, especially what we can expect in terms of big screen resolution, I'm not sure that 60fps in 4K is possible with this hardware.

Not likely to get 4k/60 in anything other than the lightest indie games I'd imagine, which is still impressive enough in my view. As a portable PC though it's going to be excellent. With 600+ games in my Steam library and an 8 month old kid, this Steam Deck is what I've been waiting for.

Apparently you can change the SSD yourself so might be something you could do in future.

I would have zero expectation of 4k anything tbh. It's really not that powerful. But it's cheap and the form factor I think is the selling point.

Wanted the high end model but it says available Q3 2022!! Think I'll just get scalped around Christmas instead.
