New Touch site

As someone who mainly accesses boards from my mobile, this new touch site is bloody awful.

The whole thing is bloody awful, touch and desktop. Given how old the previous look was, I didn't think it was possible to go backwards, but they've successfully pulled it off.

Can we switch to the desktop mode on a mobile device? If so how? I am not a fan of the mobile version at all on this or the previous.

The ability to follow threads and the ability to use the desktop site on a mobile device without having to reset it for every single page seem to be the main issues for me so far. Also I used to be able to see three pages of latest posts but now there's only a single page?

Agree with Deedsie. On the old platform, there was the option to switch between the views on mobile. I don't see any obvious option to switch in the new model. The new view on mobile is pretty painful. Desktop looks OK(ish) at the moment

Very poor. Mobile is unappealing. The Boards were perfect. If it’s not broken don’t fix it.

I never ventured into Reddit because of the unuser friendly interface. It has become very Reddity.

Weird. On the phone it’s a bit naff. On iPad it’s nicer. Closer to old boards. It’ll probably need us to play with our own settings

It's worse than the Responsive site, and considering just how long it took, so supposedly it woud resemble the old site, I'm thinking Vanilla must have a ping pong table or arcade machines in their office.

It's rather busy and it's not very clear how to get to the page of newest posts, which should be the default home page.

Also, why is the followed threads a popup window now and not able to land on the first unread post of a thread?

Depends on your own phone, but you need to set it to Desktop mode and it looks much more familiar. I expect in the coming days they will fix the mobile theme as it doesn't seem to have applied the settings the Desktop site has currently which is much more similar to boards old look

Having to make multiple taps to get to the latest posts in a thread that has gone more than one page is really annoying. And would prefer more contrast between posts, the plain white background feels like everything runs into each other.

I can't find anything and it is sooo bright, won't be able to load this site at night

No dots here either.

I think menu options should pop up when I hit the icons that appear under my profile pic. They’ll open in a new tab with a long press (Chrome on iPhone) but I can’t actually see any drop downs or menu.

Seems a bit half baked for something that was so long in the oven.

Edit: I can see them now. My half baked comment stands. And still can’t find three dots…

On iOS Chrome you press the three horizontal dots in the bottom right corner and scroll the menu down (it's not initially indicated that it scrolls) and then press 'request desktop site'. It's debatable as to whether that's better than the new touch site on a mobile screen anyway though, as you've to do a lot of horizontal scrolling to view everything.

dots top right on mobile screen not boards screen....click on them drop down or from side in screen appeared with check box for desktop.... as the easier original toggle between mobile/touch and desktop at very bottom of the boards screen now gone?
