I think Express VPN allows split tunnelling which is what you'd be looking for.

Just a heads up to anyone having Revolut trouble. I have three different Revolut cards and tried them all without luck. I then tried a disposable one, no joy.

However, simply refreshing the payment page and entering the Revolut details again made it work for me. So I'd try that if you're having issues.

Do I really need this? What's on it that's 'special'?

Already have a couple of the other bargain subs which I barely use lol

    Love a bargain though :)

Are any particular settings needed in the getflix dashboard? I have the dns setup and iPlayer for example is fine but HBO tells me it’s not available in my region. I don’t see it listed in the channel group options. I have them all set to USA

I am using the following DNS IPs on my router (Netgear Nighthawk)
    I can't remember why I choose them.

    212.71.249.225
    46.246.29.68
    54.252.183.5

    All my Getflix settings are

    Netflix off
    Prime UK
    Crackle US
    WD TV live US
    Sony US
    Zatto US
    A US
    B US
    C OFF
    D US

The only reason C is off is I was trying to get Disney Star working and just left it off.

    I hope this helps

Thanks - I have KeepSolid and can't see reference to split tunnelling in the settings, don't really want to purchase another VPN :(

I have found another way to signup for this saving money and easier to pay if some people have run into issues paying with revolut for example.

So firstly I installed hbo max on the nvidia shield using aptoide, I used surfshark vpn and set it to argentina. When you open the app up it gives you 3 payment options, 1 month, 3 month or a year subscription. Select one and it will ask you to complete signup by going to the website it tells you to visit and use the code it also gives you. Once that is done and you select 1 month for example, it let's you pay using Google play store and the cost to me for 1 month was £2.99 but I got a 7 day free trial so I haven't actually paid anything yet. A year worked out at like £16.99 so massive saving and guaranteed to pay as you bypass with Google play store to pay for it.

I think it is worth it for the WB movies landing on HboMax the same day as cinemas. About 2 per month. Not all brilliant but a few blockbusters. It's like a better version of NOW TV with movies & entertainment per month imo.

I'll be interested to see if you grow to like it over the next month

You've got all the HBO shows as well. I'm going to start a rewatch of the Sopranos. I haven't see it since back in the day and want to refresh my memory ahead of the new movie (which will also be on HBOMax :D )

Guys, i'm having real trouble getting HBO Max onto my Firestick.

I tried the region change trick, but it just never delivered to my Firestick.

I've tried sideloading but everytime I do I get a version that needs me to update it and I can't do that.

    Any ideas?

You need to add the app on Amazon account, push it to the firestick and then sync account on FS.

Yeah I've been trying that but no luck. Just doesn't appear

This Android TV version works well on the Firestick 4K. It's not the latest but works with Getflix smart DNS. For what ever reason later updates don't.

Took me a while. I had VPN to us turned on until it appeared in app library

    Thanks OP.

Signed up in my phone using VPN unlimited in Costa Rica and revolut. Make sure the spaces are in your revolut card number. Worked first time when I done this.

Installed the app from the link a few posts back on my phone and used apps2fire to put on firecube.already have Getflix DNS set up on firecube and worked with no issue.

Thanks for that, wasn't aware. Setting VPN on router is not an option.

Is it the old type Chromecast or the newer "Chromecast with google tv"? If it's the newer one then you can install the VPN on the chromecast itself.

i can only see the price of $9.99 and 14.99 when I go to the sign-up page. I tried brazil and costa rica via surfshark and there is no issue with ipleak. I did go to hbo max first without a VPN and it told me it wasn't available in my country. Do others see local R$ and CRC displayed rather than $ when they sign up?

Same for me, keep getting the US when I pick a subscription plan. The card details page needs a zip code and US state. Using surfshark and android, haven't tried on Windows yet but according to some here it should work from a phone also. Anyone else getting this and get around it.?

Try tunnelbear, it's free (enough data for subscribing to this) and worked for me there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,900 ✭✭✭bromley52

I'm sorry I didn't put some effort into trying to get Google Play to pay this. Fingers crossed when my card needs updating.

It's the old one, contemplating getting a firestick, think I should be able to install the VPN on that.

Thanks, that got me to the Argintina payment page but now it wont take my revolut card. I shall keep trying. I take it disposable cards are no good for subscriptions?

I joined on the Brazil site using my revolut disposable card, unless there's some specific block on the Argentinean website?

surfshark doesnt work for me in costa rica or brazil

hola also doesnt work in brazil or cost rica

    tunnelbear works in brazil

I would think it is only a matter of time before all vpns are blocked and i cant be bothered signing up for another vpn just for hbo max
