You might get a few more years out of it if you washed it with diesel, let it dry out, and give it a good blast of an air compressor :)

An awful thing to do to a child. Remember a school friend whose father won one.

    Wouldn’t mind one now tho...

I’d still take one over the dire overpriced hatchbacks on stilts that are as passed off as “SUVs” these days.

You could say overpriced anyhow. How the name of God so many people keep buying new ones is beyond me. Are car sales up or down this year after so many working from home I wonder

Car sales are up on last year anyway. That wouldn't be hard though

The stats are depressing. The most common sale is a grey, diesel manual hatchback in the A3 CO2 band. Christ that's a boring choice of anything. Small, grey, underpowered. Ughhhh

I wouldn't mind changing the wife's car to a q3 or q5 but they are horrid dear even at a few years old

Jcb have a backlog of orders running thru next year apparently. Taking on a good share of staff in the factories. Don't think there will be any drop in prices for a while...

No, she just about drives it haha. I'm not pushed about driving anything new myself so I don't mind keeping the car fresh(ish)

May she wear well. Always wondered what happens if you roll back a bit when the shoe is down. Will it dig in?

Thanks, wouldn't like it to happen, more than likely bend or break something.

Shoe is supposed to put the slurry onto the ground better and can spread on heavier covers, that's the sales pitch anyway, the difference in price wasn't huge either.

Feck all difference in the 2 only the trailing shoe is a bastard to block

well my attempts at a one handed video and demo weren't successful!
i took out the hydraulic filter last night and washed with diesel and airline. messy job but it was worth a try. put it back in and she drive for a few yards stopping and starting, but you couldn't go any distance before the pump would be roaring under pressure.
i took out a sample of the hydraulic oil and it was fair watery looking.i had only topped it up after the leak and it hasn't ran 30 mins since then.
i pumped the hydraulic tank empty and have a new filter to go into it with new oil.

apologies if I've missed it but any update on the roller?

Broughan's the same, Donohues told me today that it would be next year before a Dump & Silage trailer could be got.

Even the local Scania garage priced a new truck in late may and told me it would Feb at the earliest, so scrap that. The goods just ain't coming in quick enough so prices will stay static if not rise in the coming months,

I saw a Hilux jeep and flatbed trailer combination on the road today with a goose neck hitch as opposed to the normal bumper mounted ball and towbar. Is there a reason those sort of setups aren't more popular over here? Surely it would be a lot better and safer to have the tongue weight of the trailer directly over the rear axle of the towing vehicle as opposed to hanging off the back of the chassis.
