K rend question

    I'm a landscaper and need to patch up a bit of k rend on a job. Do most builders providers have it?. Is it tricky to do? I'm OK at normal rendering. Colour matching??
    Any help appreciated.

    Definitely one for the tricky department. How bad is the area needing repair ? I believe one of the draw backs of self coloured render is the difficulty in blending in repairs. Check with rep and see if they do repair kits in exact colour. Some do a like a granular paint but very hard to disguise. Ideally you'd do an entire panel but I assume that's not feasible. Do not underestimate the skill needed to match the texture - right trowel etc.

    Yeah this is a tricky one, i have applied K rend a lot and know how difficult it is to patch. The home owner will have to accept that even using the same colour it will be a bit different due to weathering on the existing plaster. There is a rasp we use on K rend to score it and take some grit out to show the textured finish but its best not to use this for patching as it will leave the surrounding areas of existing plaster bald and very noticeable, instead just fill the patch area and rake the edge of the plastering trowel over it and leave it.
