What is wrong with Paul Williams that he has to cough and splutter through every interview

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,113 ✭✭✭Technocentral

Always sounds angry too, he's a horrible yoke. Find him v hard to listen too.

    I think it's good interview.

good interview, but have heard the same one multiple times at this stage. it's more the coughing and spluttering that annoys me.

Antigen testing bad…but also good. Pat calling time on the pointlessness of the debate.

“It is not blood that makes you Irish but a willingness to be part of the Irish nation” - Thomas Davis

The subject matter was good, Paul Williams though is hard to listen to, even without the spluttering.
Adding unnecessary adjectives to describe everyone is just annoying.

Getting hot and heavy now. Pat does not like to be contradicted on antigen testing!

Driving a machine for a few hours with only able to tune in red FM in cork. Not sure which is worse, Neil prendiville or antigen talk

Sure there's an endless pot to improve and upgrade people's flats and houses.

Wonder could I ask the council for new windows.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,612 ✭✭✭✭meeeeh

I get that people are not supposed to live in unsuitable conditions but if someone can't sleep for years because the window is broken there might be an idea to get someone to fix it and not wait for council.

While I have sympathy for the elderly neighbour, but if my MIL in her 80's window breaks she has to arrange for it to be fixed. Now in fairness we'd sort it for her, so why can't that womans family sort it? Or if the neighbours are so concerned for her they could sort it, I know we would on our road if a neighbour was suffering.

I don't think that thought ever enters people's heads.

It's up to the council and tax payer to pay for everything.

"There's no facilities for the kids"

You live in the city centre within easy walking distance of numerous parks ffs.

I think there is a point in that. Most flat complexes where I come from have children play ereas and neighbourhood basketball pitches and similar. Irish flats are not child friendly at all and this will have to change if they expect families to live there. It makes life easier for those without kids because they don't run around in the halls.

Edit: just to add, this is not some luxury addition. Countries where they had to house large numbers of people especially after the WW2 knew they had to provide facilities for kids to make the housing work. People in semi-ds can send kids into their back garden but families in flats need some space for kids to play.

    Who is he?

10,000's of people who don't want to be vaccinated? In a country with one of the highest vaccination uptakes in Europe.

He's an absolute clown. I understand him going on to Lunchtime Live where lay-people are encouraged to call in but why is Pat having him on? What's his background expertise?

I’m waiting for Pat to issue a clarification on what Luke O’Neill actually said when the interview is over.

“It matters not what someone is born, but what they grow to be” - A. Dumbledore

“It is not blood that makes you Irish but a willingness to be part of the Irish nation” - Thomas Davis

All the experts told us in the earlier stages of the pandemic that you can get infected through your eyes. Of, course, they also told us that transmission was primarily by touching infected surfaces, (wash your hands). And I remember when the experts were advising against wearing masks.
So, it’s hard to blame some people for being a bit confused about what’s safe and what isn’t.
Are you going mad?………….that’s entirely possible.

All these people using the buzz words two tiers and second class citizens really annoy me!! What about health service, housing, education they are the really important things that are two tiers here? It's selfish nonsense, If two months ago I heard say, only the over 60s vaccinated could go to a indoors restaurants I'd have been delighted for them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 465 ✭✭southstar

That freeloader O Donovan wouldn't do days work to save his life...happy for the rest of us to pay his bills...not surprising then that he's relaxed enough to let the majority of the population get the vaccine and provide him with the cover of herd immunity..Now hes back on air whipping up some more populist victim BS.How the **** does a self serving chancer like that get taken seriously

I don't like it. I think it could work but allow antigen testing for people who are not vaccinated. I get there are a lot of things that are two tier but this is for me the last straw. I will be fully vaccinated in next few days so it won't affect me but it seems to me that they are tailoring the policy solely to older population who vote FF and FG (although FG have some younger voters).
