Andrew Neil on the facts about COVID-19 and reasons to be hopeful even with the growth of the Indian Variant.

    What is noteworthy about that.

Here's an example i've juts come across on twitter via one of the guests on GBNews tonight.
I heard the conversation on the telly and FYI the video shot from his armchair is strategically clipped to give the impression Wooton starts off on a demented rant however the crucial sentence before is purposely clipped.
There was zero 'disinformation' as one of the replies states because I watched it in full:
"A discussion about the potential negative consequences of further restrictions isn't deadly disinformation"
This guy is CEO of 'Byline Times' and quite frankly mirrors a lot of the extreme disingenuity and hyperbole in this thread.
    And he tags OFCOM

There is more evidence for a flat Earth than there is for the belief, and it is a belief, that a man can become a woman.

Wokeism is a necrotic intellectual cancer that consumes science for breakfast.

Can you define "Wokeism" it seems to mean different things to different people.

For some promoting gay rights such as marriage equality is Wokeism.
For some trying to avoid racism or sexism is ".
    "woke"

It is essentially a stupid nubulous term that certain people use to gripe about anything they dislike.

I saw that and clearly the issue is the comedian claiming that the lockdown may have killed more than COVID itself. I have to commend the political correspondent - right hand side - who at least tried to dilute the crazy.

A PhD candidate with over 2,500 posts in the Horse Racing forum.

Indeed. Cheers for checking the profile. How sweet.

You still didn't answer the Irish sportstar who transitioned?

How can you say that was 'crazy'?
the point was using the word 'may', we cannot know because none of it is being talked about as much as it should be
Tom Harwood is Conservative who follows the UK govt line and is very much pro-lockdowns even if it means the next few years, the panellists are on to challenge amongst other things, the govt line.

128 k dead in the UK with positive tests as if there was that many who died due to lack of hospital treatment. It was somewhat heartening to see the pol Corr not go in with the full crazy.

That's called a discussion not a love-in, using words such as 'may' and 'because' in sentences not words like 'crazy', 'disinformation' and '@GBQanon'

Well, again we are actually back to the related discussion of what labels mean.

At least the pol correspondent made the point that if you wanted to open the economy up quicker, harsher measures were needed. Didnt go down well with Wootton. Other organisations would have gone full in on what I'd consider irresponsible advice and output for a 'news' organisation. Some might see that as misinformation. That there was some pushback, shows that there might be some hope for it yet. You could see his frustration rising throughout the piece

I'm stunned Stadlen applied for a job at GB News.

The last time I listened to him he was talking about 'checking himself' when he recounted how one evening walking alone he saw 3 black men approaching opposite and either he thought to or did cross the road. It seems he felt so bad about he had to confess his sins live on air. He regularly talked bout unconcious biases and white priviage so I can't imagine anyone more unsuitable for GBNews than he. He must be desperate for work since he mysteriously disappered from LBC.

Don't care for him either. Typical London. Anyway, Dan Wooton is gay and he had a transgender guest on the other night. Don't recall her name. Uncommon far-right demographics there. Then again I suppose there's no reason LGBT can't be far-right, like myself

I do enjoy a post that says I had my struggles look at my orientation therefore I'm entitled to be an arshole about other people's rights.

.oh and you've heard it here tonight folks. The fight for rights is over done and dusted. Eskimo has made the proclamation. Now people are just muddling around in the dark looking for rights to get annoyed about.

I guess that's why Hungary Poland and Russia are rolling back gay rights left right and centre.

Sorted so. Allies needed no longer . This whole left thing is a fad. Boooo urns... Right wing is awesome . Waves Flag.

Thanks to the lefties, wouldn't have passed if it was down to the right wing. Labour introduced the Bill.
Labour and Liberal members were mostly in favour, while Conservative members were mostly opposed.

Hilarious to see people getting bent out of shape because some alt right chat station masquerading as news is being trolled, thanks to its decision to run with imported culture war nonsense and hysterically bad production.

It really is sh1te on so many levels. Andrew Neil's monologue was a terrible launch for the channel.

Well. This has certainly taken a turn to crazy town.

I have no idea what you're talking about, I find it entirely plausible that Eskimo can claim to represent the entire LGBT community while at the very same time rejecting the T. :P It actually says a lot about the demographic this channel is targeting when you see the other stuff posted by those who support it. It's literally they want a television station to validate their opinions. This admittedly sounds ridiculous in 2021...

Irish people arguing over a British news station. It's a weird one.

What, no one's allowed an opinion on something foreign?

The world doesn't end at the horizon over the beach!

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

A British news station that is available in many Irish homes.

Are we not allowed opinions on BBC on Channel 4 either?

I'd say a lot on this thread have opinions about everything. Most Irish people who have a hard on for stuff such as GB News secretly want to be British from my experience. The target audience in England wouldn't be as enamoured for Ireland or the Irish I imagine.

What a load of nonsense. Most of us grew up watching British and American TV. Didn't make us any less Irish.
