So where and what time does the new stock come online today? Or do AIB cards come out later?

Thanks to everyone who posted their GPU upgrade paths. Looks like I will be sticking to my 2070 for a very long time.

I think I just come to the point where I am longer arsed going out my way to get a new GPU unless I can simply add to basket and checkout easily.

Best of luck to everyone trying to bag a new card tomorrow.

    Anyone get anything?
I only looked at Scan at 2:05 and then found out that they are delivering again!
    But I was too late.

I haven't been able to get past cloudfare on Scan for MONTHS. Am I doing something wrong?

The EVGA site has been basically down for the last hour. They only opened up the 3080Ti for their "Elite" members to put their name on a list for the opportunity to buy a card months from now.

Can you get on it right now?

I can't, my friends cant. Etc

Had a few pages open covering different locations. Mostly out of interest as I have little interest in spending that kind of money.
Didn't see any opportunity to buy, everything went from pending/coming-soon to sold out within seconds of the launch time.
Unsurprisingly there are already 10+ on ebay with a nice 1000 or more added to the price.

That is not true. Scan is still not delivering outside of UK.

I was nearly certain the option was there earlier. It doesn't let me now.

    I was very excited earlier....

Not impressed with these prices on the 3080ti. No sign of the LHR stock on the 3080...

I get the cloudfare, usually when I try to look at buying an RTX 30XX FE.

If I use a VPN then cloudfare doesn't occur, but I still can't buy my FE!!:)

I had a peek at about 2:45 and they were already down to only five versions left in stock. And even then, 1200 quid is only just barely what I have in my account, so I'm not willing to waste that much money on a card with questionable performance per euro.

I can only get paste cloudfare on scan by using mobile data on my phone after disabling wifi. I've a scan account from years ago and I've since changed address. I'm unable to update it as Ireland is no longer an option.

I think they've recently updated their shipping information page. If I remember correctly it previously said they due to brexit they were unable to provide international shipping at this time but now states they hope to "to restore service in the coming weeks" How long it's been like that I don't know.

I'd be fairly confident of being able to get a card from them if they do resume shipping ex UK Vat to Ireland. I managed to get to the checkout page today twice today , firstly on the 3080TI and then later on a 3080. Obviously I didn't complete the order but I'd no issues getting that far. I might see if I can update my address using AddressPAL details but I suspect payment would crap out due to the different billing address.

Hopefully the international shipping is restored soon and we can order directly. If fairness to them dealing with brexit and covid-19 work restrictions affecting staff I'd say sorting out international shipping wasn't high up their list. Hopefully with covid-19 improving and other UK retailers now shipping internationally it'll move along quickly

At this rate it'll be easier to wait until lockdown restrictions are lifted, and ferry/drive to Bolton to buy one in person.

Has anybody here tired a freight forwarder from Spain or France to get a founders card ?

I've seen on other threads that scan UK will ship to Ireland minus the UK VAT but it's not implemented at checkout and you'd need to contact CS to make arrangements which would make getting a founders card impossible as they sell so quickly

    I ordered a 3070 Founders Edition via Notebooksbilliger.de.
I used mailboxde.com and by complete fluke entered the Mailboxde address(slightly) wrong in the NBB system. In the rush to open a new account(I already had an Irish addressed account) using the mailboxde address I forgot to add mailboxde to the address. So my address on NBB is:
    Manshay Manshay Ltd,
    Aussere, ID XXXXXX 57
    02763 Zittau
    Germany.

I presume NBB search Founder Edition orders for the words mailboxde or similar and then cancel them.

I placed the order on 26/5/21, mailboxde got it 28/5/21, mailboxde sent it via GLS on 31/5/21 and I got my parcel this morning, 4/6/21. The mailboxde cost was €19.10. You have to accept their is a degree of risk if your parcel is mislaid, I was nervous for a few days....
My search for a GTX 30XX is now over, now to cancel several Amazon orders. Amazon never delivered one order

I wonder could someone "accidentally" mispell mailboxde to reduce the risk a little.

NBB uses amazon.de pay. I've Mailboxde set up on Amazon Germany. I'd previously read that NBB reject the Mailboxde address, so I set up the address to read Mailb0xde. Unfortunately NBB's drops are botted to bit, it's websites api is very poor and people with the right skill can find the urls of parts about to drop well in advance. It's next to impossible to actually get something with them, so I never got to test if my incorrectly spelled address would work but manshay's post would seem to suggest it would.

LDLC ship to Spain and France only , they are the Nvidia partners for those country's. Thier drops are more regular than NBB and have bot control. I don't know of any freight forwarder in either Spain or France to try a similar trick .

We could ask Nvidia to make the FE cards available in Ireland. That would work since Nvidia wouldn't want to damage their image by excluding Ireland!

Since www.nvidia.ie redirects to www.nvidia.com/en-gb/ it must be some kind of oversight.

I was just postulating a theory that might help people. I was incredibly lucky myself to get a 3080 last year before scan stopped delivering here.

At the time I had quite a bit of buyers remorse but 2021 has made that remorse evaporate!

I had a weird experience of buyers remorse. I sort of convinced a friend who is nowhere near as into gaming as me to buy a gaming PC. I then told him I could get him a 3070, but he had to say yes quick, but he lives in Canada.

So I ended up paying Irish VAT, 90e to DHL and Canadian VAT and Customs to get it to him. So ended up around 250 - 300 more than he'd have paid if he had found one in Canada. That was November and I was like "man, I feel he could have saved the money if he'd waited a month". He's so happy! The stock situation there seems somehow worse, maybe the Scalpers from the USA hit their stock too.

I paid my NBB by CC rather than with my amazon account.
I tried ordering a card on Amazon.de and it wouldn't accept my (correct!) mailboxde address.
When I set up the address with english spelling it offered a slight different spelt german version so it may recognise mailboxde addresses.

You could but they don't care.

Yeah I contacted both Scan and Nvidia regarding this, neither gave a ****e, scan did however say they were working on it.

Does anyone have any idea why a card would refuse to take input from Afterburner/EVGA Precision and other apps? It's an RTX3090.

I have tried different drivers and even updated the cards firmware but it seems to ignore manual changes. For example I can set the fan manually to 60% and it'll say it's set at that, but on desktop it remains at fan off/super low, then under load it goes to 80%+.

I can also boost memory clocks and it'll report they are changed but zero difference in-game or benchmarks.

The card does behave normally when left to its own devices but it's too expensive a card to be locked out of manual control. :(

Something else controlling the card, like a third app?

What brand of 3090 is it? My Zotac 3090 is fine with any control app, including Afterburner. Though the RGB only worked with Zotacs awful Firestorm program.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,768 ✭✭✭Homelander

It's a Zotac Trinity. Think the card is just a dud, but it's so weird I've never experienced this before with any card. The Spectra does work via Firestorm though and the power limits do have an effect, eg if I limit power to 60% there's an obvious drop in performance that stays consistent.

But changing core/memory/fan speed does nothing on any of the apps.

You have enabled fan control in AB Settings?

Maybe try EVGA Precision or some other app
