I had a weird nightmare last night which seems to have been inspired by this, where I was working (I think) as a hospital porter. I was wheeling lots of patients to an operating theatre run by a vet (inspired by watching DSPCA!) and bits (limbs etc) of them kept falling off on the way, I was stressing trying to pick them up, by they couldn't be reassembled by the surgeon/vet as the parts didn't match up due to lack of decryption key. The surgeon and staff were laughing at me for even thinking anything could be done and I was tearing strips off them for their attitude!

:D:D:D I'm cracking up here. One of the funniest posts I've ever read. Brilliant.

What part of the tourism industry fecked for this year, are politicians not getting, its too late, far to late, domestic tourism will not sustain this industry. It will be 2022 at this stage I'm afraid.

No way will we have international tourism in any meaningful way this year. Not a hope. 2022 will be the real "opening up", but by then the economy (here and global) will be so badly indented that individuals' travel ambitions will be curtailed for years to come. Certain industries will absolutely thrive, but a lot of individuals' pockets will be empty. This great unstoppable freight train has left the station.

And I agree 100%, I know many in the industry, most not even bothering to reopen and focusing on 2022.

Agreed but Cullinane is very difficult to listen to. Always has been.

Collins is just so childish. "Let me remind you... That's not what you said etc" Childish party point scoring.

Edit: I know they are all at it but he honestly believes FF can do no wrong

    Covid slot up first today.

Does she normally do the Three Trots and a Tory thing afterwards? (Not a regular listener, sorry).

There is certainly a question mark as to why pharmacists not being used and I certainly agree the vacinne roll out is shockingly slow

Does any think these travel certs will work, I just can't see it, EU countries can barely agree with legislation, let alone this concept, we are still seeing EU countries go it alone, restricting travel and then there's the type of tests that will be acceptable.

That interesting, who's paying for children's PCR tests in advance of holidays, hadn't thought of that. Minister seems confused about current international travel ban and if fine for breaching same still in place.

He is, saw him protesting outside the Dail during the week with his silly hat on, strikes me as quite the loudmouth, thankfully the line is bad :)

My impression is kids can't be vaccinated but will need a PCR test, this is new and I'd imagine quite expensive, imagine say 4 kids, mother of God, that's a holiday price for one adult in itself

Yep. He’s been on various RTÉ programmes over the last year.

His over bearing boorish attitude fatally weakens whatever argument he tries to make

It seems other European countries accept antigen testing, not Ireland?

There's a climb down if I ever saw one, Minister might have just stirred up a hornets nest re children's testing and costs prior to holidays

Asking “who benefits” from only allowing PCR testing, implying that there’s a vested interest.

Laughingly hypocritical when you consider that he’s on the show representing a vested interest.

Just listening to her there, her name is Senator Sharon Keogan...She has some gob on her.. all right.. never heard anyone as negative as her with every sentence so far on the programme. She is obviously trying to make a name for herself. At least the Sinn Fein guy comes across with a bit of decorum.

Was that Verona Murphy? The HSE should give her a shout after the show to use her expertise in cybersecurity to resolve the extremely complex ransomware issue. She might be able to just foghorn it into leaving the systems.

Independents really are a complete waste of time.

I wonder how many other businesses had 50% of their fixed cost covered throughout this pandemic, Adrian Cummins
