Was hoping for a few shows for Dylans 80th birthday tomorrow. Plenty of stuff on the radio (RTE 1 and BBC 6 music) but only the 30th Anniversary concert on Sky Arts tomorrow night at 22:40.

How do? More Dylanorama this weekend on BBC4 with some interesting archive shows coupled with oft repeated filler. Elsewhere there are some live bits and pieces and all the usual suspects ..

(From 2018) In 1979, Bob Dylan released Slow Train Coming, an album of strictly devotional songs and declared he had found God in Christianity. For the following two years, accompanied by the finest musicians and gospel singers, he toured with a repertoire solely of songs expressing his new-found faith. A film was made of one of those performances, though never released. This showing is enhanced by a series of sermons between the songs, all specially written for the film and preached by Oscar-nominated actor Michael Shannon. The result is Bob Dylan's gospel service combining the 'then' of the gig with the 'now' of the message of The Preacher

From 1994, RTE tells us that home taping is killing music and that there are raids going on to stop it. There used to be a guy on O'Connell Bridge in Dublin who could get you nearly anything. IMRO will be pleased to know that home taping has been almost wiped out now
