    Right OK.

Then twitter, facebook etc are cesspits. As you say at least boards is moderated to call out fake news and lies and nonsense.

Anywhere is a 'cesspit' if you frequent the right spots or read the right comment.

There is a reason every journalist worth their salt is on Twitter. It is one of the best mediums out there for comment and news.

The way the fans of FG and FF write it off when it is critical of them is cute but wholly wrong and deluded.

Not deluded actually but sensible, most of the time journalists and practically all of the time politicians just dump their news or announcement tweet and leave it at that
They've more sense than to be engaging with what follows from the semi proffessional climb on artists

That photo and the fact that it was retweeted by party members does point to an arrogant and uncaring blindness in FG.
That they wouldn't see the issue tells us more about them than anything else.

Things must be really good for the government (not only thanks to their 7% increase in support since the general election) if all Francie has to complain about is somebody barely visible in the background of a photo being tweeted by FG members. It smells of pure desperation.

The only people who have an issue with twitter are defenders of the power swap parties.

They hate that the days when they couldn't be answered back are over. They hate that the easy PR and bull can be called out.

But sure little or none of the target audience for the 'answer back' are reading...
Its become beyond post one a niche echo chamber :)

Not having a strop at all Francie, just moving along to some other thread now instead to layve you at it...wouldn't want to disturb important business ;)

So you think they put a beggar deliberately in this photo to appeal to FG voters because they like seeing people begging on the streets?

FG really have got into SF lads heads reincarnated as the devil!!

    ****en laughable.

I am not now or have I ever been a member of any political party but the only one that directly harmed me was FG,

So you suffered nothing in 2008 from the banking collapse?

Honestly I think the government will really suffer badly on transfers at the next election. People have become so polarised now. Yes some will give FFGG their No. 1 but I think most of the ones that don't vote FFGG No. 1 haven't a notion of giving them preferences. And I dont think FF will benefit from FG tranfers and vice versa. Even the coalition partners themselves seem to be working together through gritted teeth. The Greens might get a small percentage but I can see voters trying to elect anyone but FFG which means transfers/preferences will be given to all over the place to SF/SD/Lab/INDs. It will be the most interesting election of my lifetime.

They are in government with 48% of the vote in the last general election, now they are on 55%. That would be enough to overcome any issues in relation to reluctance to transfer. The numbers don't add up for you.

Sorry you're saying twitter is where views are debated rationally and I'm not used to that???

    Twitter? Really?
I never mentioned Twitter you did. I was talking about here which is policed.

Twitter can be a great medium if you know where to look.

I believe FG will benefit in a not-quite-equal but opposite way from this polarisation. If FF go into the next election saying they are open to a deal with SF, then obviously people with a strong antipathy to SF who have historically oscillated between FF and FG are now going to flock to FG. But I think you will also get people whose general political leaning is on the soft left but are strongly anti-SF, old Stickies and the likes, giving their 'one and only' to FG.

I've a feeling the re emergence of the housing, health, homelessness crises will be put on Covid. If some buy into that FG might do middling. There's a good possibility we'll see another patch work minority government with FG and FF. Which damns us all to more of the same.
Basically 'better the devil you know', which is all they have to offer. The question is will people have had enough?

This is what FG and FF are counting on with their constant attacks on SF. They are trying to paint a picture well you don't know what you will get with them but you will know what you will get with us.

I still think that SF need to up their game as well and stop getting caught out on stupid things like the Storey funeral, talk about a major own goal and just gives something for FF and FG to throw back at them. One thing all parties are lacking though it talent. Each party has 3 or 4 good performers but their is massive drop after those few with FF being the worst of them.

How many posts do you reckon Francie and co would post calling out disrespect if that was about Eoin O Broin ?

The current government is on 55% in the polls, up from 48% in the general election. Hardly result in another patchwork minority government.

People seem to be looking for more, rather than having had enough.

After one poll do you honestly think FF and FG will gain seats? Not a hope in hell. Our electoral system is much more nuanced. FF and FG will both lose seats but FF will lose more. The Greens will lose most. There might even be a split in FF.
A general election campaign where the electorate is constantly reminded of Golfgate, Living with Covid, 4 Ministers for Agriculture, Meaningful Christmas, Mother and Baby Home fiasco, Leo the Leak, Healthcare Capacity, Cuckoo Funds, Housing crisis, Homelessness, National Debt ratios etc etc...It will be epic!

Extremely unlikely. They did well to last this far. I see an election in 2022 or Q2 2023 latest.
The TDs in the 3 parties are hardly on speaking terms as it is. The trust is completely gone.

    For example

Fianna Fáil is ‘drowning in shadows of Fine Gael housing policy’, party told
