I've a titanium rod in my leg and it wasn't effected by the MRI. I thought it would be a problem but was assured it wouldn't be, and it wasn't in the end.

There has been stories or Titanium exploding though which is a scary prospect

I think it might depend on the type of metal, if it's a metal that's not attracted to magnets (e.g. gold and silver) you're ok.

    Bismuth is repelled by magnets.

So is silver which might be handy if you are a werewolf hiding in the tunnel at CERN.

On average it takes about 2,000 steps to walk a mile (1.6 km). Average height of a US male is 5'9" (175.7 cm).

    1 mile ÷ 2000 steps = 0.0005 miles (2.64 feet, 80 cm) per step
    38 miles ÷ 6 steps = 6.3333 miles (33440 feet, 10.2 km) per step

    That's a 1266560% increase.

Therefore, the giant is 13.83 miles (73015'10", 22.26 km) tall. If he tripped and fell over Dublin Airport he could bang his head off Balbriggan.

    E&OE :p

There's not a lot of oxygen up that high. Giant would have to crawl.

I think it's more of a hop than a step. Explains it fully :D

It's a scientific fact that people without enough oxygen are jealous of those who do.

Seven-league-boots are used in Terry Pratchett's Discworld books by the wizards of Unseen University. It is noted that, as their mode of operation places the user's feet twenty-one miles apart, skipping the required preparations leads to spectacular but tragic incidents.
