Help - Video editing, no gaming max €1,000

Hi everyone, friend of mine is looking to get a laptop for video editing.

I have been looking around but my knowledge is mostly of building desktops so would appreciate any suggestions!

Requirements:

Good colour reproduction screen eg, I assume IPS would be best here? (FULL HD would suffice and no need for high Hz refresh rate)
Ideally 16GB RAM
512GB SSD
Full size keyboard with numpad preferred
Budget max €1,000 but ideally the lowest possible while maintaining the requirements.

the 6-core 4600h will handle video editing well. most video-editing tasks are cpu-based, rather than gpu

the 1650 will provide backup for the gpu-based video-editing tasks

the 144Hz screen is colour accurate which is unusual in budget gaming laptops

upgrade the ram yourself to 16gb with ddr4 sodimm 3200 mhz.

if you can change a lightbulb you can do that.

if the video editing is going to be very much 4k-based then consider the just in budget 1660ti version

Thank you for those suggestions. Very good value. As much as it wouldn't matter to me, I don't know how the gaming look would sit with her, as she mentioned liking the apple look. Must checkout the mate book pros.

You need a powerful cpu and graphics card

That comes in a gaming laptop form (assuming colour-accurate screen)....

else you need 2,500+ for a dell xps 15 of similar specs

other option is go for the macbook air m1 which is a bit different but would not be as good for video editing

it doesn't look that bad and can turn off keyboard lighting

it's the magicbook pro that would be in budget but no proper gpu in it

Thanks for the links, it really doesn't look as "gaming" as in the product shots.

Take off the couple of stickers beside the mouse pad and turn off the RGB lights and it would be very non-descript

Aand the efore mentioned Acer Nitro 5 with an eventual ram upgrade. Must check if it comes with an 8gb stick or a 2x4 which would make the upgrade a bit more expensive...

by the way the matebook 14 doesn't run the 4600h at full power potential but at a reduced wattage.

should be ok for 1080p video editing but would not recommend for 4k
