Aldi specially selected oven chips are lovely - they are chunky. We actually cook them in the deep fat fryer and they turn out perfect. The crinkle cut ones are lovely also :)

Not chips, but the Aldi maris piper wedges are just like deli wedges and are very good.

I have yet to be partiuclarly inspired by an oven chip. We have them in the freezer all the time (Aldi, or McCain homefries, tried the Proper chips once (good but nothing to write home about)). Better in the actifry than the actual oven. All are massively improved by the McDonnell's spice bag mix and pan frying...

Super Valu own brand are pretty tasty. They've got home style, chunky, skinny and another type I can't remember. We would use the home style for like fish and chips, and the chunky are brilliant for curry cheese chips. Big fan.

    Where can you buy these

Aldi, Super Value, Dunnes, Tesco etc.. Closest thing you'll get to chipper chips

Cmon people, not again, keep the chips out of the air fryer

Is it possible to cook frozen chips in an air fryer?

Yes, no problem. Just shake every few minutes like everything else you cook in it.

I'm suddenly realising this may be why I never got results worth caring about with the air fryer. Ah well.
House full of coeliacs, so we're limited in choice. Green Isle gluten free oven chips are the best option at the moment, unless cutting up the spuds ourselves.

+1 for the SuperValu own brand mentioned earlier. I got a bag of the skinny chips last week. They came out great from the air fryer. I wasn’t expecting much but I was very surprised. Usually I’d use Tesco skinny ones but these were so much better.

Spotted these in Aldi this evening and decided to give them a whirl.

Really like chipper chips, but without the greasy mess bit - win/win!!

Yeah, nearest thing to chipper chips you can get from the oven.

    I think they might be!

I've bunged the remainder into the freezer, so as long as they're still as nice from frozen as they were from fresh, I think they're a winner.

are the suitable for home freezing? as in, is it on the storage instructions?

I buy those too, pricey in relation to other chip products but never the less a quality product.

Aviko is a "food service" brand commonly used by takeaways (like Chinese takeaways), you will see them in cash & carries. Did you get them in a regular supermarket?

Yeah, regular shop, aldi/lidl have a very similar bag, obviously all the same chip I'd say

It says on the pack to keep refrigerated, or place in freezer. That's it.

No instructions on cooking from frozen.

I took some out of the freezer this evening, and (accidentally more than anything) cooked the absolute bejaysus out of them - and they were lovely! The smaller crispy bits turned into tooth-crackers, and the bigger chips were mildly crunchy.

The only slightly off-putting thing about them is that they stay so pale, but otherwise definitely a winner!

Dunnes Stores Crinkle Cut Oven Chips get a nod from me.
Worst brand to be avoided are Green Isle Oven Chips. Take forever to cook, instructions on the packet are Bollo'
