I asked a few times and they refused, showed them the post and only a couple times they relented ... I’d definitely question the “happy to offer an alternative!”

It's down to the individual staff members. Some are great, very flexible, others are so by-the-book you'd swear it was coming out of their own pocket. In my local, one girl was really great. I had one for an air freshener and when I asked where they were, she pointed them out but said they were useless and if I wanted I could swap it for anything else on the list Once I scanned my QR code, she typed in some code that she got off a sheet and that was it.

I always go when it's quiet. It's a bit of work for them as they have a list of 5-6digit codes to enter manually for every item on scratch and win. It helps if you're nice and try to engage in conversation. I just tell them I have about a dozen 4c fuel vouchers and they won't be used. About a week back, they even offered a triple/toasted sandwich for the fuel vouchers. It doesn't come out of their pockets so they don't really care.
Whoever(staff) says it can't be done is just lazy and bullsihtting

I've won loads of 4c off -- in the last week especially. Fairly useless when not going anywhere much or traveling for work.
The cynic in me thinks they're handing these out knowing many won't be used but they can say hey, 3500 prizes won each day ��
