Absolute bottom dwelling crap. It's no loss to the airwaves. I'd prefer to see one or two presenters who don't just appeal to the outrage mob and lowest common denominator 'hot takes'.

I'm starting to feel bad now, I happened across them on the go loud app at the start of the first lockdown, I found them just nice and easy listening talk radio for the most part. Never took it too seriously, usually have newstalk on or the wife has today fm on, but I mostly enjoyed the silly Dublin outrage in the mornings, I will miss it now in the mornings anyway, now just another station playing exactly the same music all be it just a few minutes apart.

Their "Adrian Kennedy & Jeremy Dixon" Facebook page seems to have been deleted. That page had a lot of activity and followers, and was originally set up following their departure from FM104, it wasn't 98FM branded. Seems rather counterintuitive deleting it if they're looking to maintain the following they have.

This is quite telling because they would have been able to delete all of their 98fm content in one go as Facebook has a feature which allows users to delete all their posts at the click of a tab. As you said, that page was theirs so I don't get why they deleted it. Are they going their separate ways?

They're still posting from it, posts are still showing up on my newsfeed but you can't get onto their page

And "Zoltan", who later went by "John". He was supposedly a wheelchair user who hated working class Dubliners and verbally abused them regularly on the show. He was comedy gold though.

He goes by Jude on Niall Boylans show and Joan is regularly on there too as herself,

Getting back to the topic, I used to like Adrian and Jeremy when I was 20, 18 years ago, can't stand either of them now, especially that Dixon fella, he's the radio version of a computer keyboard warrior.

I use to love Adrian's show when it was on in the evening it was like a guilty pleasure for me.

But I always thought putting that kind of show on in the morning was destined to fail because the show would have to be toned down and many of the characters you get on evening show would not be up that early.

I'm surprised the morning show lasted as long as it did.

    Ha yes, Joan!
    Jude was another "regular"

I wonder if Jude was even a real person ?

Some of the stuff he said was so off the wall I thought he couldn't be for real.

I know it's standard practice with these decisions to give almost zero notice to the listeners but I'm wondering does that also apply to the presenters? Do they know a few weeks in advance or are they also given little notice? I assume they're self employed contractors so could theoretically be axed with little notice.

No, he's not Jude. He and Jude were regular callers to Adrian's night time show on Fm104 back in the day. "Zoltan/John" wasn't a troll though. I think he lived in Drimnagh and regularly rang in to the show. He was well spoken and quite intelligent.

I would imagine Bauer recognise that this type of imported American tripe is long past its sell by date. As for meeting the ridiculous talk quota imposed on music stations, all they need do is cry the poor mouth to the BAI who will roll over as per usual.

I wonder is this the start of Bauer shoring up their stations.

Imagine going to London and hearing a talk in show thrown in mid mornings on Heart or Smooth FM.

If Bauer are anything like the UK they will focus on music on a music station and I can't see the BAI objecting a whole pile in this environment.

I'm fairly sure he worked for our nations postal provider. 100% a real person, possibly a wind up merchant.

I used to listen to it every night back when he took over from Chris Barry in about 97 or so. I had a little handheld radio that I'd listen to after everyone went to bed. Was probably only about 12 or 13 at the time.

I remember years ago Jude saying that he was into "midget porn" that has to have been a wind up.

Oh right, just sounded very similar to Jude, as he is also wheelchair bound and hates Dubliners and people on welfare etc, he's also well spoken and comes across as intelligent

Yeah fair point. Hadn’t thought of that but you are right, the “target” caller for the show wouldn’t have been up too early or “in the form” for ringing in early in the day

Have fond memories of Adrian reading the headlines of the evening herald and then later in the show the headlines of the papers for the following morning, along with his analysis of the news

A sharp mind that people under estimated at their own risk

When I was working as a bar man I had to get taxis home at all hours and the taxi would almost always have Adrian Kennedy show on - less so with the non national taxi men admittedly

But the Irish taxi men loved the show. 1 taxi man described it to me as “the taxi industry’s RTÉ” as Adrian’s show would give taxi men the right to speak and raise issues important to them

Vividly remember him saying that to me near the tesco on baggot st years ago

I would go further and say it was the late night workers RTÉ

I’ll never forget that and I hope Adrian and Jeremy are rightly proud of that.

On the other hand RTÉ wouldn’t p1ss on the working class taxi men if they were on fire ....

Their late night schedule consisted of boring repeats

I don’t get the Jeremy digs from other boardsies

Jeremy was a great side kick/foil to Adrian. Half the time he was simply on a wind up looking for a reaction from Adrian and the audience. And by god would he get a reaction!!

The lads spoke to the Mirror newspaper. With regards to what they're doing next, Jeremy says "Our aim is to be up and running in the next three weeks". Is it going to be with another radio station I wonder or are they going down the podcast route? Whatever the format, I'm looking forward to it. Best of luck lads.

Juding by his wording and the new banner on their Facebook page, it doesn't look like they're going to another station.

I can't see a podcast where it's just the two of them talking to each other being as good as a live show where they had callers to bounce off.

Speaking for myself and my wife we would def listen to the lads just shootin the breeze

But they could follow the Dunphy sort of format and have invited guests on the line or in studio

I wonder was it any coincidence that a lot of the same callers appeared on both Adrian's show and Niall Boylan's show ?

There's one particular one called Niamh that does be on Kennedy's, Boylan's and Duffy's call-IN (...) shows.

For some people it seems to be their job to spend all day calling up talk shows with "controversial" opinions.

Jeez lads, for the folks that have an issue with Adrian/Jeremy, I would advise you to steer well clear of RTE Radio 1 at around 13:45- 15:00 weekdays, there is a guy called Joe on there. :pac:

Never heard of them. Nor the station..probably a few hundred listeners

    I like both shows!
Most days I'm forced to listen to Liveline.
