Well......if it isn't the cork legend himself ;)

Give shadow play and continental op a listen R .

    Philby is a great song

    oh I can't handle Jess Glynne's voice! :o

I think it was ShaneU who submitted a song of hers before and I was slagging him because he said he was a big fan of hers :p

Great song, I know it but couldn't tell you who it was

  • Registered Users Posts: 20,348 ✭✭✭✭Rikand

The last 2 songs to be revealed were just way out ahead of everything else. One of them is one of my favourite songs of all time and the other was something introduced to me completely new that I have never heard of before that I loved..... but which will come out on top.....

(these were the two that kept changing position for me that i mentioned this morning)

Searched for Seperate Ways on youtube to see what all the fuss was about, great song :D

Now I'm falling down the autoplay rabbit hole Hold The Line by Toto :D

If we all liked the same thing a Walrus would become a very short boring SHEEP... ;)

I didn't like her initially, but something changed and she grew in me like a big warm fungus :pac: I'm now thoroughly infected :p

In 2nd place scoring 14 points

Casiopea - Galactic Funk :: Submitted by
    Sephy

So yeah, I love instrumentals. You'll see from my last ran walrus that instrumentals tended to do very well especially if there was a bit of piano in there and the piano/keyboard solo in this is just amazing! Just Brilliant. I'm definitely checking out more from Casiopea. The whole performance is amazing but I do love an instrumental and how can you not find joy from watching these guys play music!

In first place scoring 15 points

Lambchop - Up with People :: Submitted by

One of my favourite songs of all time. Just a song that brings pure joy to me. I'm a big fan of Kurt Wagner's spoken wordish singing style but this is just a fantastic jam type session. I love the guitar. I love the whole ensemble and its just a beautiful airy kind of feeling that slow builds into a lovely wonderful crescendo of emotion and the trumpet..... Up our lives today..... up our lives today..... come on progeny....

Didn't I have this in the bottom 3 or something for a category for my xmas Walrus, Seph?

Just goes to show how two different hosts can have vastly different reactions. :pac:

I must try re-using some of my previous entries to see how they fare with a different host at some stage.

That's something I thought of doing with all may last place finishes, if the stars ever align for it :pac:

Thank you everyone for submitting songs to my category 1, songs that bring you joy! On the whole I did enjoy the songs particularly from around 10th place onwards. Some really great submissions that are going to have me checking out other songs from the artists submitted.

I havent started listening to Category 2 yet but I intend to do the reveal for that sometime towards the middle/end of next week. it will all depend on how I am doing in Wrestlemania! :D

I'll stick a table up with the points and links to the songs from this round tomorrow. :D

And I'm only keeping one word document from now on :P

Quite possibly, I'd have to have a look :D I do sometimes submit things that might not be everyone's cup of tea.

Delighted with first there, can only go downhill from here!
