We aren't allowed to repeat a defamation, because that itself is a defamation, but does anyone remember what date the broadcast relates to? Curious to see whether it's still online (hardly), or even what the forum comments were like.

Some people were commenting earlier in the week that Duffy sounded grumpy. Perhaps now we know why.

He's often grumpy at the start of the week, and didn't sound any more so during the show. Some short enough time back he was extremely grumpy for a whole week, fighting with every second caller. Maybe that's when he was given the picture of de writing on de wall.

The axing of 'funny' Friday was around that time too. And maybe some internal communications re the use of 1 man band contractors in rte. Things havnt been falling in Joesph the wurkers favour of late. Apart from the sick money for talking about your hobbies that is.

I don't know whether the Shinners are particularly litigious or whether RTE has a gripe with them, but how many actions have been settled against RTE by that party by now? Their current and former party leader have settled claims against RTE, or had apologies issued, and this is only the latest example. Something is really off kilter. Not aware of similar missteps against any other party/ technical group.

Maybe other parties are less likely to pursue legal recourse, I don't know. Very curious.

A lot of us may be curious but who wants a knock on the door at 3 in the morning.

They must have just sued RTÉ I’m guessing. The doctor who is suing Newstalk is also suing Ciara Kelly. Wish the Shinner sued Duffy personally.

Teacher unions outdoing one another. Retired teacher Kathleen has been wheeled out from yesterday, with Brid on backing track.

A doctor is sick to the eye teeth about vaccine delays

How's the grub in quarantine hotels? Talk to Joe

Duffy was the one who made these comments. He (rather than RTÉ, and by extension you and me) should be paying this. He might be a little more careful in his choice of language if he had to pay for his own comments.

What did he say that could possibly be worth 150k? He cost the taxpayers 250k for his comments over O Snoddy that time. It should be coming out of his oversized pocket not ours

So some of de special needs assistants have actually received the vaccine; could be war on de show!

we can't repeat a libel, but have just listened back to the RTE apology on February 4th (great show btw, old folks phoning from Gran Canaria)

Anyway, back to O'Laoghaire and the legal action: RTE apologised for any insinuation that Donnacha O'Laoghaire would be unfit to serve as a member of Government, or specifically as Minister for Justice. Liveline didn't intend to impugn O'Laoghaire in a "fantasy cabinet" discussion that took place after the 2020 General Election.

€400,000 + solicitors fees in the past 12 months. And that's just the ones we know of.

Good job the programme is raking in millions in advertising revenue from... ehh.... RTE themselves.

Pah, no wonder the Ozzies called them whinging Poms.

Donnelly is a prime example of how wafflers and bull****ters are able to get into highly paid jobs. It's amazing really.

He's getting a bit of a shoeing from a very curt Dr. Jennings.

    The ever-evolving vaccination cohort picture:

    https://www.gov.ie/en/publication/39038-provisional-vaccine-allocation-groups/

Think I should be in Cohort 7... but as it's a moveable picture could be anywhere. There'll be fun and games when it comes to Cohort 9, a free-for-all of "deserving cases" and probably an unforeseen hiccup causing vaccine shortage in the middle of it.

They couldn't get him on the TV fast enough back in the recession. He had all the amswers, except for the few times when someone was allowed to challenge him on them. Then he had no reply.

No idea how people failed to see through him, Shane Ross and their ilk.

This the same organisation that you wont read out statements from any more, Joe. Surely you won't stand for this?
