Eir getting a new IP address

    Hi. I'm with Eir. Its dynamic IP but it doesnt seem to actually change when I reset the router. Any ideas?

    Log off and back on through the router. Or are you sure it's not a static IP?

    I don't really know much. I've not changed any setting on the router but I assumed Eir was dynamic ip.

    Seems it's not static but you will offer be given the same IP over and over again.

    With NGA Eir allocate IPv4 space to the NGA agg, its local and sticky. Turn off your router for 3hrs and you'll likely lease a new address.

    Alternatively if you swap to PPPoE then you'll get a new one each time you dial. This doesnt work with Eir TV.
