I’m interested to see how the palace will respond. Surely they have to respond to the allegations that Meghan asked for help and was denied it, the allegations that Archie was denied a title due to being mixed race and the allegations that there was “concerns” over how dark he would be. I know their long lived philosophy is never complain, never explain, but surely they can’t let stuff like that just hang there

Hardly as much work as harbouring and defending that big dirty pedo Andrew who is still dodging the fbi with full backing of that gross inbreeding family.

Can’t people question two things at the same time? Like, it goes without saying that the royal family’s response to Andrew’s stuff is awful and that he’s a cretin. That’s a given. So does that mean people can’t be interested in this? Andrew is a minor royal. People simply aren’t that bothered about him. People are demonstrably interested in this.

So it’s very obvious that meg had planned it all from the start, if you listen to her at the end she says she got everything she wanted.. she was a nobody actress, met the Harry lad, realized he was a bit dim so decided he would be the perfect brand accessory, made a half arsed attempt at being a royal all with a view to creating the perfect storm whipping up publicly and getting back to Cali and setting up archiewalls to make millions, Harry nice but dim meanwhile can’t understand why he can’t get his dole any more, luckily Di left him 50 mill in a trust fund, sicken my hole the lot of them

Whatever anyone thinks about her, the way she was vilified and demonised over and over again by the media for the most insignificant and irrelevant of actions was absolutely disgraceful, and she didn’t deserve that. It was and is inexcusable.
Particularly when compared to the coverage Andrew got, considering all the evidence supporting the allegations against him.

Well, given she is such a back-stabber, that all seems justified to me now.

And I say again, Andrew was vilified in the British press and world press.

So your attempts to say she's being treated disproportionately badly in comparison to Andrew is nonsense.

Pretty good spin though, you could make a living working for a British Tabloid.
I also think it’s funny that people are holding William up as a beacon of morality, doing his duty with his nice wife and kids given the huge rumours circulating over the last few years about his long term affair with Rose Hanbury (a close friend of Kate’s), while Kate was pregnant on Prince Louis.
He’s certainly his fathers son in that regard.

Where did you hear these rumours?

Have you tapped the Royal phones, aka British tabloid style?

You are certainly talking like a British tabloid journalist.
Interesting that none of the British press ever reported on any of these rumours, there wasn’t a peep out of them.
Yet if you google it you will see that the story ran for weeks (and is still running) in the tabloids and media in the USA and Australia, among others.
Meanwhile Meghan is accused of perpetuating 3rd world poverty & famine and causing droughts, because one time she said she enjoys eating avocados.

Are you saying the British press would not report a story about Prince William having an affair? lol
I think Harry has a lot of bitterness because he sees how his family have been harassed and ripped to shreds for the most innocuous of offences, while others in the firm get to enjoy a positive public persona but are actually doing much worse and aren’t even hiding it.
It must have been beyond frustrating for him to see his wife be berated for holding her baby bump too much while William was having a full blown affair, and not getting a bit of hassle for it

Harry and Meghan had the best public profile for Royals I've ever seen. Harry was a tearaway but then matured. Got married to 100% approval. But today they have totally destroyed that.

The nutty commentary around this story continues to amuse me no end. Yours being one of the most notable detached from reality ones I've heard so far.

They'll probably go on a PR campaign - the queen smiling like a lunatic, Kate nodding with her weird half smirk as William says something "profound", or Philip might take a turn for the worst. Andrew locked safely in a closet out of harms way of course.

I was sure that they would respond after the absolute car crash that was Andrew’s interview. It was absolutely horrific! And they didn’t say a thing! And they didn’t say a thing after they failed to answer questions for the FBI. And public interest has now waned now in the Andrew story. It is in the back of people’s mind. Give it a decade, when all of this has died down, and they will wheel out Andrew again. People have short-term memories. That has always been their policy!

if an Irish son brought home a black girl we'd see the same lil remarks within the family that Meghan had to deal with at the hands of the Royal family and the press. No one is racist but the little off the cuff remarks would be there.

Ah was wondering how long it would be before the "no one is racist but" defence was used to justify the racism. That's quite enough of this thread for me, there's only so much ignorance I can tolerate in one night.

This is a genuine question. So, after a google, if those claims were written about William and Kate in a reputable, non-UK paper, would they not already be subject to libel laws?

Jesus, what a load of over dramatic hyperbole. I’ve zero interest in getting into a lengthy multi quote battle with you, nothing spoils a thread quite like it. You seem to be taking this very personally.

I would have no bother debating my opinion with you if you were polite but given your downright hostile reply to me and accusations of me being detached from reality (!!!), I simply can’t be arsed with you.

If you can’t even make your point without being civil and throwing petty insults, then you can find someone else to argue with. Have a good night :)

No interest in either side of the fall out, I wish the U.K would break up and replace itself with three small normal European countries that look after their citizens. The biggest serfs in the U.K are the English, no English passports, no official anthem, no elected head of state, no seat at the U.N.

I'd suspect Maj James Hewitt will get mentioned in off the record conversations with reporters from loyal newspapers. True or not doesn't matter. They will want to muddy the waters until something else takes over the front pages. That said I'd imagine William would throw a fit if his mother was dragged into it.

I feel very sorry for Meghan. I think she was naive. Women in the royal family are merely baby producing machines who are to always look perfectly manicured. The treatment of her by the Daily Mail is nothing short of scandalous. Kate and William are treated with kid gloves in comparison by the media.

I think that they bailed out of the royal family because in reality he is surplus to requirements. Plus he had to fear for his wife's mental health given how she was been treated by the press. This would especially resonate with him given how his mother was haunted by the tabloids.

Isn’t rose hanbury married to the marquee of chlamydia?

    They divorced recently, didn’t they?

The whole thing was very cloak and daggers

They don't need to say anything as they have such overwhelming support

When somebody responds to an accusation, there is always the risk that they will incriminate themselves. I would say this approach is more driven by not wishing to say anything potentially damaging

didn't realise Meghan is already 39, so this started for her when was 35 not like 20 something for Kate Middleton and William, she already had a life.

I dont agree that Kate and William got off lightly in the media.
Remember William had to ask the press to back off from Kate and the Middletons also?
Her parents were stalked by the media long before they married and the royal family refused to give them any protection as they weren't royal themselves.
Kate also had the absolute humiliation of been photographed with no top on while in a private setting and that photo was plastered in the tabloid media.

No-one ever really frames it as 'W & R had an affair', it's generally been reported along the lines of 'rumours of an affair which probably aren't true'.
That makes it a difficult one to go 'libel court' on, especially in other countries jurisdictions. And it could cause a Streisand effect, whereby a story that's limited to gossip sheets would become front page news.

Maybe that’s the real reason they buggered off, Charlie let slip that Willy is his only real son.

Indeed. When people say they married really quickly, they did but realistically time wasn't on their side in terms of having a family.

I wonder is there a small part of Harry that is thinking feck.. shouldn’t have said that. They’re getting a lot of support online but with that comes a lot of abuse in the direction of your family members. Is that what you’d want? I know that wouldn’t make me happy. There’s no winners really in all of this. Just a lot of hurt, fractured relationships and things said that you can never take back. I just don’t get the point of it all.
