It hasn't been mentioned that several of Meghan's work colleagues and friends who have worked with and know her for years came out in support of her last week. But of course all the boards experts know her better and feel qualified to offer a character assassination. Have to laugh at some of the ridiculous posts here :D

Everyone is free to make up their own mind. No one has to buy into any narrative.

"I didn't even Google him" and the protection/title for the child are being called out for the BS that it is. You don't have to know her to know she was talking through her arse with that

I’ve just finished watching the interview and, tell ya what, Oprah didn’t go easy on Harry. He seemed a bit taken aback at her line of questioning at one point. Her questions were fair though. I appreciated his honesty in saying that if not for Meghan, he’d still be an active Royal though.

Yeah I thought Oprah did a good job actually, which I wasn’t expecting. She was a bit salty at times too which I very much appreciated.

I watched the Meghan and Harry interview..now watching the Vicky phelan interview...a woman who is terminally ill who is so strong trying to change the cervical check system and the legal process to make it easier for those coming after her...that is so focused on spending time with her children and making memories for them after she’s gone. Puts into context how fake and insignificant the other interview was...

I was more empathetic to them post-interview. But then it was pointed out that they lied about the secret marriage. Why???

Whatever anyone thinks about her, the way she was vilified and demonised over and over again by the media for the most insignificant and irrelevant of actions was absolutely disgraceful, and she didn’t deserve that. It was and is inexcusable.
Particularly when compared to the coverage Andrew got, considering all the evidence supporting the allegations against him.

I also think it’s funny that people are holding William up as a beacon of morality, doing his duty with his nice wife and kids given the huge rumours circulating over the last few years about his long term affair with Rose Hanbury (a close friend of Kate’s), while Kate was pregnant on Prince Louis.
He’s certainly his fathers son in that regard.

Interesting that none of the British press ever reported on any of these rumours about the affair, there wasn’t a peep out of them.
Yet if you google it you will see that the story ran for weeks (and is still running) in the tabloids and media in the USA and Australia, among others.
Meanwhile Meghan is accused of perpetuating 3rd world poverty & famine and causing droughts, because one time she said she enjoys eating avocados.

I think Harry has a lot of bitterness because he sees how his family have been harassed and ripped to shreds for the most innocuous of offences, while others in the firm get to enjoy a positive public persona but are actually doing much worse and aren’t even hiding it.
It must have been beyond frustrating for him to see his wife be berated for holding her baby bump too much while William was having a full blown affair, and not getting a bit of hassle for it.

    He looks nothing like Charles.

He looks a lot like his paternal grandfather when Philip was young. And there’s Diana’s family to consider too. Diana’s brother had red hair which is what much of the Hewitt speculation rests on. And I think he looks as much like Charles facially as he does Hewitt as in that he doesn’t particularly look like either of them. His head shape is male Windsor, IMO. People have latched on to this Hewitt thing but it doesn’t stand up to scrutiny at all. Diana hadn’t even met Hewitt when Harry was conceived.

That would be long since proven by now if true. The technology to find out has existed for a long time.

Plus, Harry is the spitting image of Charles!

They're literally defending an organization that was caught red handed fraternizing with an underage sex trafficker, there's no point arguing with them.

It's these type of people that allow abuse to continue. Meghan is the type that we need now, that stands up and gets rid of the horrible b*stards.

The royal family are Teflon! Look at how the queen behaved when Diana died. William, Kate and the queen could shoot people in the street, and people would still support them

If the British want a Royal family, well, that's up to them. No time for monarchy, myself. Even as a child in the cubs in Birmingham, I wondered why I had to face the Queen's picture and do my DYB DYB DYB's.
    But......

Some people over here actually find this interesting, and will, or have watched it, either on UK tv, or RTE . I expect it would be a significant number, and as such would justify the mooted 10k RTE paid. I'll just add it to a list of crap I'd never bother watching:

Harry and Meghan; Love Island; Married on TV (or whatever its called); Real Housewives in Essex.... anyway, you get my drift. I can't stand them, but there's actually an audience for all of it.

    I'm confused...

Where are the posters defending The Royal Family? I have seen no one defend The Royal Family here tonight at all.

Just because Meghan Markle is being called out for some of the things she has said, doesn't mean there are people draped in a Union Jack

if an Irish son brought home a black girl we'd see the same lil remarks within the family that Meghan had to deal with at the hands of the Royal family and the press. No one is racist but the little off the cuff remarks would be there.

I haven't read all this thread but watched the interview out of morbid curiosity. I don't believe for a minute that they didn't have access to the questions beforehand. My random thoughts:

I've no idea what either of them are like as people, but Harry seemed genuinely angry and upset.

The allegation about the concern of Archie's skin tone is sickening. Meghan said it was when she was pregnant, but I'm sure Harry said it was before they married and made in reference to what future children might look like. Did I pick that up wrong?

I find it strange that they always hold hands as if one of them might float off into the ether, but they might just be touchy-feely people.

The editing was very suspect at the end. Very serious one moment, then suddenly after the thank yous they're all giggling and Meghan covers her face as if she's been lying throughout. As I've said, that could be the editing.

A soap opera family dressed up in tradition, interesting to see what the next episode will be. This was like the Christmas special where all the skeletons come out of the closet and the turkey ends up in the bin.

Maybe they are referring to the British media or public?

True, but without doubt she was villainised by the media and there were no official statements to save her from death by twitter

The hand holding thing comes with every couple that are interviewed.

In short, it's bull****! All about presenting a United front and all this malarky. Not just exclusive to Harry and Meghan btw. My post is meant in general

I am loving the calls for Jeremy Kyle to do a lie-detector test for them live on air.

You know you’re on a downward spiral when you star on the Jeremy Kyle show

    Career revival for him.

Another thing, they were both very specific about having a lot of respect for the queen and being in regular contact. Meghan even mentioned an impromptu zoom call when Philip was taken to hospital.

No way they would have gotten away with slinging accusations at her.

The "royal" family are dirt. The whole thing about them is a disgrace. They're no better than reality TV trash. And Oprah Winfrey is another piece of lowlife crap. She's a backstabbing snake. Why the F is this manure on Irish TV?

Because it will get good ratings.

“You are scum”, had to be one of his best lines. Cannot imagine him using it on Harry and Meghan though....
