What is your favourite city outside Ireland to visit?

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,497 ✭✭✭auspicious

    Red. All day long.

I remember when I was about eight years old in McDonalds in England I went up to the counter to ask for more red sauce. They hadn't a clue what I was on about. Eventually my uncle translated that in Ireland red sauce actually means ketchup. I was happy afterwards but alot wiser.

    Budapest.

    What's your biggest life lesson?

Oddly oat/soya (if you call them 'milk'), even though I'm generally an enthusiastic carnivore.

Do you shop in Marks and Spencer much (or would you if there was one near you)?

Yes, still proudly wear my Marks and Spencer label jacket about 20 years old now bought in store beside tallaght hospital.
The main draw of that store was the cafe at the entrance on the same road.
Unfortunately Marks and Sparks is now outside my 5km boundary.

To my therapist about the lockdown a few weeks ago. Don't think she got many words in but it felt pretty good.

Where would you fall on the introvert - extrovert scale?

Ive worked largely nights over the past few years, without social media i might not have even or forgotten about the global pandemic..

Whats are your top 3 go to activities to keep you sane at the moment??

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,497 ✭✭✭auspicious

I'm not being pushed to insanity by anything thankfully so I don't have any crutches. But lately I have taken a liking to watching Nuke's top 5 on YT which is pretty fringe stuff. We can only measure our sanity against those we view as less sane...

Many are calling the outrage by the general public over the Elliott photo as faux outrage. I think they are right to a degree but I see it more as push back against the lifting of a corner of the security blanket which is the cognitive dissonance around how animals are seen and treated in wider society. It reveals that things are not actually all hunky dory and ignorance is bliss. Would you agree?

Is there someone you would like to succeed MDH as president of Ireland?

    Michael O'Leary,
    MOL.

A foreign multinational you would buy shares in if you had any spare shekels but must be something like an airline or manufacturer.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,497 ✭✭✭auspicious

That's almost as awkward as my question. I won't skip it though.
Manufacturer... of logistics programs to control automated robotics processes e.g. warehouse, or airport baggage systems. Cognex.

Where's the strangest place abroad that you unexpectedly experienced a slice of home?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,521 ✭✭✭magic_murph

Galway - they had brennan's bread. Well I was just blown away.

Would you like to live in a boat?

Yes, in a freshwater environment or the big lake in the north of Ireland. Charlie Haughey liked it too.

Do you actually use any advertised service like Grammarly, or other products advertised in YouTUbe videos?

I almost try to avoid any product that is advertised on youtube. I know that they need to make money and all but it's so annoying that the adverts pop up in the middle of the 4 minute video you are trying to watch.

When did you last kick a football?
