Rather than a long list let's dedicate a single post for each. Have one of their earlier tracks followed by some of their more recent catalog.
I'll start.
Since he's days with Ultramagnetic MC's in the late 80s to date, Keith has always stood out as different. Sampled by The Prodigy and then wrote and performed Diesel Power on Fat Of The Land, releasing 4+ albums a year, collabing with artists in and outside of Hip Hop. One of the most diverse for flows, very strong vocab. Loves the sex rhymes but also raps about everything from interplanetary travel to being a janky doctor and much more besides. With more alter egos than I care to type, it's your mom's favourite rapper ...Kool Keith!

He started out as part of Leader of the New School in '91. Has had various levels of success over his long career and is still putting out albums solo to this day.

My third contribution is another New Yorker. KRS One is one of the Original OGs. He's an O-OG.
1st big break was with BDP (RIP Scott La Rock) in 87.Criminal Minded was groundbreaking for the time and influence so many and still does to this day. He had a big underground success with Return of The Boom Bap (Sound of the Police) and later some more commercial acclaim with Step Into A World. He had some controversy later for no outright denouncing Bamabaataa for the sexual assault allegations and also for name dropping the wrong Beastie Boy on an album after MCA passed away.
Some think he got too preachy and I agree at times he does, but still a solid MC with well over 20 years in the game.

Time to move from NYC to LA.
Literally coming straight out of Compton, Ice Cube. Arguably the most talented MC from NWA he left after a financial dispute. This sparked some historic diss tracks. He's had a lot of success with solo albums and an acting/movie production career. He's still putting out poignant tracks disparaging police violence and discrimination. He also had two album with Westside Connection.

Keeping it West Coast. Another monster OG. MC Ice T
Carved his lane as a rapper about hustling and robbing but soon started to address more conscious content but from a street level. Formed metal group - Bodycount. Cop Killer got banned. Split from Darlene (The girl from the Power album cover and married Coco Austin. Starred in movies like New Jack Hustler and Tank Girl. Regular on Law and Order. Oh, also did a project with Kool Keith - Analog Brothers.

Back to the east. Newark, New Jersey aka Brick City
Redman, the Funk Doc, released his first album in 92 and is still releasing today. An impressive 8 studio albums under his belt. Also heavy on the guest appearances. Very extensive list. As most will know, he also featured heavy on the most recent Wu album - The Saga Continues. This is after his Blackout! albums with Method Man

Another New Yorker
El-P aka El Producto has been making waves and carving his niche in the underground as a rapper and a producer for 2 decades. Founder of Def Jux and one half of Company Flow.
He released very well received solo albums in the 2000 and early 10s. Next came Run The Jewels. Seminal Hip Hop duo, he paired up with Killer Mike who had got his start with Outkast. The first 3 albums were all underground and each one gaining more momentum for them than the last. The 4th one from 2020 was a major label release and to me has a more poppy sound. Still mostly raw but I feel Ooh La La was written to be a single. Still, looking forward to seeing where there go next with RTJ 5.
