    He must realize online "abuse" is coming yet he won't run when balls are played across the 6 yard box.

    Marcus really has grown.

    Still only 23. Others all have a few years on him.

    Also, Bruno has unreal output and influence.

    I think Patrick Bamford is a great player - how much would he cost in today's market? I'd love to see him as an attacking midfield player for Utd.

    This is a brilliant clip. Genuinely miss the old days of football.

    The Wimbledon clip, the tackle at 1:10 by Jones on Cantona and commentary is like "he has to be booked for that". :D He should be serving time for assault haha. The selfish side of you would miss those days even if it was wrong.

    Let me not hear Ole on about fatigue for the rest of the season. Plenty of opportunity to use the bench but refuses to do so. Madness

    It's undoubtedly the weakest link in Ole and his assistants armour.Knowing when to use the squad and rest lads that are playing too often.
    After Brunos penalty went in, Mata should have being told to get stripped.....instead himself and Shoretire are brought on in the 86th minute!

    Maguire hasn't got any break at all this Season and could easily have being taken off for last 15 minutes.Would have given Lindelof and Bailly a few important worthwhile minutes together playing first team football.

    Are Carrick and Phelan afraid to suggest sensible substitutions to Ole or something? Phelan spent long enough working under Fergie that his opinion should be listened to by Ole.

    Remember watching that game....they were rough as f##k but that Wimbledon team could play a bit as well.Can you imagine the reaction most modern day midfielders would have to that tackle by Jones on Keane?

    They wouldn't stop rolling till the sideline!!

    Well Carrick and Phelan weren't even on the bench this evening.

    I assume Bruno won't be playing midweek so I don't think 10 minutes of a fairly one sided close to a game is going to have a dramatic effect.

    If there's truth to Bruno's recovery times being very impressive and he's clearly a guy who wants to be involved as much as possible then I'm not going to get too upset with the timing of the change. Crazy to think he is a genuine golden boot contender.

    The work on the sideline is generally very poor .No one seems to know when or what subs to make.

    Can't remember the last time I watched MOTD but recorded it tonight... Shearer and Dublin didn't hold back on Martial.

    When you look at those clips you also appreciate a bit more the snooker table esque surfaces on modern top level grounds!
    Couldn't have been easy for the more skill full players back then playing on that kinda surface, never mind the constant worry of crunching tackle flying in at any time!

    Martial was a disgrace tonight. Should not start another game this season.

    I was nearly embarrassed for him.
    I couldn't imagine been a professional in any job being critisised so severely, by my peers.
    I hope he saw it. I hope it made for some uncomfortable viewing. I hope it has an effect.
    But knowing Tony, it'll just result in Le'Sulk.

    Myself and my nephew were roaring at the TV when this happened

    That's the kind of ball an out and out number 9 lives on, Cavani would have been in there as soon as the ball was played out wide

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,383 ✭✭✭S.M.B.

    Martial has been poor but I'd like to think Ole now considers Cavani to be our first choice number 9 and Martial is more backup to Rashford.

    I don't really feel the need to pile on with the criticism though, in an ideal world he'd turn things around but right now things are not looking good.

    According to the Deloitte money league United's revenue was down by more than any other club last season. Mostly due to tv revenue. Down £118million.

    Estimates are that United earned 25million for Europa League compared to over 80million the year before in Champions League. I imagine Bruno has already repaid his transfer fee by now in prize/broadcasting revenue.

    Swiss Ramble
    @SwissRamble
    #FCBarcelona retained top spot in the Money League, despite revenue dropping £114m, fractionally ahead of Spanish rivals #RealMadrid, both with £627m. #FCBayern £556m overtook #MUFC £509m to claim third place, while #LFC £490m climbed two places to 5th, just ahead of #MCFC £482m.
    Swiss Ramble
    @SwissRamble
    Almost all clubs saw revenue fall year-on-year, due to the pandemic, with largest decrease at #MUFC £118m, followed by #FCBarcelona £114m, #S04 £91m and #PSG £86m. Only 2 increased revenue: Zenit, (accounts closed Dec 2019, so pre-COVID), and #EFC (stadium naming rights option).
    Swiss Ramble
    @SwissRamble
    The majority of the revenue decrease at the top 20 clubs was driven by broadcasting with both #THFC and #MUFC down over £100m. The largest match day falls were in Spain: #RealMadrid £33m and #FCBarcelona £29m. Commercial dropped most at #PSG £58m and #Inter £50m.

    Martial just isn’t a striker. Both himself and Rashford play better on the left (when both are on form). I think we need to give Greenwood a shot as the CF if Cavani isn’t playing.

    Martial should be pushed to the right and if he can't find form, he can be 3rd choice CF after Cavani & Greenwood

    He doesn't deserve to start in the league or fac cup again full-stop.

    Europa & Reserves only.

    Not having that. Martial has everything to be a striker. Pace, skills and decent in the air. Looked to be a decent finisher once upon a time but with a penchant for missing some easy chances.

    There is an elephant in the room with him and that's work rate. Playing with him up front throws the whole team off kilter. Like Pogba in midfield, they just don't work and it means everyone else has to put in that bit more work which leads to players being out of position and gaps appearing.

    It sickens me that him, Pogba and De Gea are the highest paid players at the club and have not shown any development or real willing to work while on their current contracts. Been the issue with the club since Fergie. Players have made it so there's no carrot. What has Martial done to justify his contract?

    I don’t think pushing him to the right will be any use. On the occasions I’ve seen him there he hasn’t performed. At this point I think he should rotate with Rashford for the left side. Cavani should be our main striker rotating with Greenwood, who can also play on the right depending on the game etc.

    I think we’re all in agreement that he needs to be dropped though. Ole’s idea of him playing himself into form clearly isn’t working.

    I don't know tbh, I still think our style wouldn't have suited him

    He scored a great counter attacking goal yesterday but he does lack pace.... very slow
