Yet again our defence had zero organisation. What are the coaches at?!

    Ffs sh*t defending all half

Maguire always seems to turn into crap with Lindelof

He's acclaimed peripheral vision and spatial awareness to the fore again.

Maguire didn't even jump to head that

We are going nowhere with Maguire.

He's a midtable defender at best.

I’m not blaming Lindelof for that goal. Just saying our defending always goes to sh*te with this CB partnership.

We look so much better at the back with Bailly in there

When United were briefly being talked about as title winners the one thing which always made me roll my eyes was so many people not being able to understand that you don't win titles with a central defence that's as soft as melted butter. It actually enrages me how weak and pathetic we are in that position.

Very little creativity in that midfield without McTominay and/or Pogba. Fred and Matic together is not inspiring.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,545 ✭✭✭BenK

Martial is beyond useless. How is he starting ahead of Greenwood.

    nice control there by tony

You wouldn't even know that Martial was on the field, he's been completely anonymous and done absolutely nothing so far

It’s not just our defending that’s an issue. We were poor up until the goal. The goal wasn’t team play or well worked, just a piece of individual quality , the kind of quality we have been relying on from Bruno. Then the team instead of pushing on , gets pegged back with a couple of chances before the goal.

This is in general a very flat performance with little evidence United will Go on to win this game. I thought a few weeks ago there was no realistic way United would be dragged into a top 4 spot race but this is putrid stuff.

Team will win nothing with Lindelof, Maguire, Matic, James and Martial leading the line.

Rashford individual goal aside, this has been a shocking performance, in every area of the pitch. Newcastle are marking Bruno out of the game, Fred and Matic have forgotten how to do 5 yard passes, defence has look consistently terrified and disorganised, particularly when facing set pieces. James has shown good pace, some decent runs but nothing close to an end product.

Martial needs to be taken off at half time, he has been a disgrace., put Rashford up top and stick anyone else out wide left.

Terrible showing from players and manager. No clue when teams sit deep and work hard against Utd.

The slide down the table begins here.

    So predictable.

Maguire's the common denominator. He just breeds uncertainty at the back. Even with Bailly next to him, he does his own thing, the goal a few weeks back against Fulham is an example of it. I'd love to see Lindelof next to Bailly tbh. But Maguire is the first name on the team as long as Ole is here.

Think people are being incredibly harsh blaming maguire for that header. Thought it was actually a very good header defensive header but I’d need to see it again. I think it was martial who got sucked in and lost his man but need to see it again.

Fred and Matic been the weak link for us.

Martial has to be hooked at HT.

Interesting stat, probably a refelction of the quality of the chances United give away rather than Dave.

Maguire pumping that ball out of play when under no pressure sums up this half for Utd.

Would love to see Mata and Greenwood start the 2nd half, but will probably have to wait until the 82nd minute for a sub :pac:

I've never had so much lack of trust in a United captain as I do with Maguire.

He's bang average, makes poor decisions, no leadership, no grit and determination.

As Keano would say, you wouldn't want him in the trenches with ya.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,980 ✭✭✭PsychoPete

I'd definitely be bringing on Greenwood for Martial

If a Maguire is €80 million, how much would a Ferdinand cost!!
