Why would Gun-dog be rested? He didn’t start the FA cup game!

I mean has been rested and should start.

Forfeits seem to be the very last resort. I can see them coming though if another team playing City or Spurs have a covid outbreak.

By all accounts with Southampton having drawn Arsenal in the 4th round, that DGW will be off. Honestly, I think with all the panic the Premier League were displaying about dumping games in at short notice, it is honestly incredible that they’ve gone a different route to what they did with Villa v Liverpool and actually cancelled a Premier League game to facilitate a cup game.

Only have 5 starters this week!!

    No GK
    Stones
    Son KdB(c) Bruno
    Kane Bamford

Was just looking at DGW fixtures and considering chancing only going with half a team this GW and then using Free Hit for the DGW and hopefully put a strong team together and make up points lost this week.

My midfield should score ok this week,is it madness to go with such a ‘weak’ team this week?

    Thanks for any thoughts.

I am in a similar situation and was thinking of doing the exact same thing.
Sometimes these gameweek can be a bit of an anti climax.
I currently have Reguillon, son, Bruno, Kdb plus 2 free transfers aswell probably Kane and an additional man city of utd attacker.
A part of me feels I might regret playing it tomorrow, I am ranked at 60k might hold back

That's a bench boost killer for a lot of people I'd say. I have 2 Leeds players so that's gone mess up my double game week team.

I think I'll go without Wilson if I do FH. Can actually see Sheff Utd beating them

City Chelsea and United or Liverpool look likely to blank in GW29 so that looks an ideal week for FH now.

But do we actually know it is off? Are we gonna know by deadline? Look how late they left it to pitch the Spurs v Fulham game in.

I feel like they're probably not gonna consider people's bench boosts when they make the decision on when to pull the trigger here.

There's probably going to be multiple gameweeks set up for FHs this season

I'm not even considering BB anymore. Seems like madness.

    On FH, currently looking at

    Lloris
    Cancello, Tierney, Awb
    Kdb, Fernandes, Son, Gungdogan
    Kane, Lacazette, Wilson

    Sanchez, Sith Rowe, Fernandez, Mitchell

Anyone see any glaring issues that I might have missed? Not overly confident on Lacazette, considering taking a gamble on Cavani

    Very similar to mine....

    Lloris
    Stones, Tierney, Fernandez (Shaw, Mitchell)
    Fernandes, Son, Gundogan, KDB (Anguissa)
    Kane, Wilson, Laca

Surprised more people aren’t going for Newcastle defenders as Sheff Utd are hardly inspiring up front.

Hesitant to use mine alright, but happy to have a squad of 15 to get me through the inevitable cancellations.

Yea I think it's too risky now if we don't get confirmation on Leeds and Southampton. I think triple captain on De Bruyne is looking good though with 2 home games against covid stricken Villa and Palace.

If villa are still Covid stricken then City wouldn’t have a second game and your captain choice is a single match.

So, I was planning for this week and have 2 Villa player and 2 FTs.
So Instead of 11 Starters I will now have 9 if I use my FTs.

    What would you do?

Using 2 FTs my team will be something like:

    Martinez

    KWP Cancelo- Reguillon-Keane

KDB- Son- Bruno- (Klich/JWP replacement tbc- Possiby Foden?)

    Kane- Wilson- Brewster

Is it worth doing a -4? to get 10 Starters or go ahead with the FH?

I'll have one on the bench. Ordinarily i'd agree but there are better options with Spurs, Arsenal & City all at home against opposition you'd expect them to win to nil against more often than not.

It's 9 days from now so it will be on. I meant they will have 10 players back from it which is obviously a big negative.

    Actually Scrap that!
My 2 FTs got me 10 starters so I'm going with:

    Martinez

    Maguire- Cancelo- Reguillon-Keane

    KDB- Son- Bruno

    Kane (c)- Wilson- Brewster

It's a pain having Brewster but maybe tomorrow is his time to shine :)

Anyone considering Auba? Or is Bruno untouchable?

He didn't get off the bench in the cup and Burke scored so can't see him getting mins v Newcastle.

Maybe he was resting him for the league :p

I could get Foden in for JWP and bench Brewster, problem is that Foden played 90 in the cup and mightn't get any minutes either.
I can't see anyone else in that price range that might be worth a -4.

The Villa Spurs game killed me the same as many here (lost my 3 villa) so will most likely go with FH. If I didn't go with it I'd field 7 players (including free hit) so I think the FH is worth it to get another 4 players on the pitch. Of course I could be regretting it big time in a few weeks.

    Leno (Steele)
    Dias, Stones, Shaw (Dunne, Mitchell)
    KDB, Bruno, Son, Rashford, Saka
    Kane, Lacazete (Brewster)

With the reports that circa 40 more players have tested positive (and we don't seem to know which teams they are from) I wonder if I shouldn't hold till tomorrow to make the call. The players in bold are the ones I'd be bringing in and there is a prediction that many of them will rise tonight so I might not be able to afford that team tomorrow.

I'm not happy having effectively 2 non players in defense (Dunne won't start and Mitchell is a coin toss) It would leave me with one bench player in Brewster for his customary 1-2 points

Laca has always been a trap for me so don't know why I'm looking at him now. Smith Rowe might be a better shout than Saka.

Shaw is also a doubt but he trained for the full session today apparently.

    Any advice ?

The Villa postponement has fecked me. I have 7 players and 1 FT. Includes KDB (c), Kane, Son, Bruno, Holding, 2 city defense, and Stephens who would be lucky to get a 1 pointer. I feel I have the big hitters needed for this gameweek. Would holding here be crazy? Would like to know what others think. Thanks.

Smith Rowe for Saka will save you 0.9. Can you get Cancelo instead of Stone?

Would probably prefer a Newcastle defender for cheaper instead of Shaw as not guaranteed he'll play - maybe upgrade him to a spurs defender?

That's a definite hold for me. Could get in an Arsenal attacker with the FT. Maybe Saka or ESR if funds won't allow Lacazette. Playing the Freehit with the team you already have would mean you're only drafting in maybe 3 starters. There isn't enough upside to playing it imo. Save it for a later GW.

Same, you couldn't have asked for better fixtures for 4 of the "big teams" this GW against Brighton, Fulham, Burnley and Palace. Like seriously!

When FHing you are going into the best possible players with the best possible fixtures and the FPL god's have delivered with this GW18.

Don't beat around the bush lads!
