Yeah I really like those American style wood paneled CRTs but the idea of having something with a Nokia badge on it that's not a phone is just bizarre :D

Weird thing is I knew about Nokia as a maker of decent TVs back in the 80s and early 90s long before I knew them as a phone company

Surprised he doesn't have red curtains on the walls, because his pricing is from another place...

I'd love to know how he prices things. Here's one with it's box on ebay in great condition for 125gbp.

I could have sworn I seen a modded one of those Outrun toys, but I must have mixed it up with this:

Now I could be very wrong because I haven't been up to date with CRT/PVM prices since selling my collection to another poster here about 5 years ago, but 3.5k for this !
A very very nice monitor, are they really going for this these days ?
No disrespect to the seller if they're on here.

That will be listed forever for that price, nobody would ever pay it.

I think it might be a case of a wife who doesn't like an old CRT in the house so he's listed it 'to sell' :pac:

Looks like a complete repro PCB/board though, wonder if they have worked lots of AV magic into it?

Ya its a clone of the last Model 2 board version alright, looks like only a few minor changes were done to it. Using a Fujitsu rgb encoder instead of the usual Sony one along with a separate RGB amplifier and a second crystal.

They've a Famicom type thing in the background as well. Maybe acrylic wrapped clones are the new cool thing to have...

I'd love a mega drive translucent case, just love the look of those kind of consoles

The skeleton Saturn is just so cool!.....it even says it on it

Thats the fullsize version not the mini , so I think 100 quid wasn't far off what it sold for . Plus theres a second joystick , so its not that bad all things considered

A lot of stuff I would have considered dreamer material is actually getting sold. I saw someone pay roughly €20 for a sonic 1 a few weeks ago!

Seen some drama on the mini arcade cabs facebook, people slagging them over price etc.

Not only has it gone really silly, but for anyone new to collecting, it will ruin the experience. Sonic 1 for €20, I adore the game, but in no way is it ever worth €20.

Wow, if that's the price games that sold 15 million copies are going for, I'd hate to see some of the rarer prices these days

I'm totally out of the loop as to what things cost now, don't really buy games anymore and I've tried to stop searching things I already own on ebay as I'm sick of suddenly having to treat my games as if they should be in a museum display.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,798 ✭✭✭Jack burton

    You're better off.

It's really become a joke the last while with people just throwing money at it. Wish I held onto some of my rarer stuff and made more money off them now haha

Amiga hardware in particular seems to have gotten insanely expensive in the last 12-24 months. I'd hate to be starting out collecting for that now!

And then on top of that the Amiga scene has so many toxic people in it these days that its a nightmare for anyone starting out and asking question on the various Facebook groups or forums. But that's a whole other conversation :0/

Absolutely, love the Amiga but its got one of the most dysfunctional, backstabbing, batsh1te crazy communities out there.

Ya and prices have gone to hell.

That brexit thing isn't going to help anything, makes eBay a lot less attractive.

A lot of stuff may end up walled in within the UK. And that in turn will maybe push prices up elsewhere.

I was looking to buy a joypad, about 40 euro in UK, but with the added tax it brings it to over 60, and that's without shipping cost. So it kind of gives the go ahead for European sellers to bump it up too.

Unless things change, I can see prices going doolally altogether. I was fairly familiar with Sega Saturn stuff (already mental), but looking now it's really gone off the deep end. Common stuff that was 20 quid like Nights is now over 100 in some cases? House of the dead from 20 to over 100, and that's not even the sought after stuff. I'm trying to get what I can sooner than later, which is probably madness too. Who knows where it's headed?!
