There's no chance Villa accept playing with a depleted team having already agreed to postpone against Newcastle when the situation was reversed

Villa also had to close their training ground so won't have been able to train for the match

I'd say it'll be full strength Villa or no game

There's no chance Villa accept playing with a depleted team having already agreed to postpone against Newcastle when the situation was reversed

But it's not the same situation - in that they have played a game since the confirmed cases.

Sheffield united game went ahead despite only have 16 players - some making their debut for the club.

Finally it's the PL that pulled the Newcastle game - Villa didn't really have a choice in the matter.

Spurs already have 2 games to make up this season, if this gets cancelled then it's 3. Will they have any say on when those games get played - given the tight fixture slots, them in the cups, them in Europe. If you keep cancelling games on teams then they will never get the league finished.

Reports on twitter claiming Aguero is self-isolating after being a close-contact of a covid case.

Does that mean he's out for 10 days, or are until he gets a negative test - lost track on what are rules over in UK

Sterling missing today's game with a knock.

Think I'll go on my FH

    Dias or Stones
    KDB
    Gundogan

Do you think Jesus be worth a shout, or is Gundogan better as if he misses out, well he's sub 6m?

I know this is mad ... any1 fancy Aubameyang to get back to scoring ways? could be big differential given that most will go for Saka/Lacazette

Hard to know with Aguero's uncertainty plus Jesus isn't doing much. There's not many striker options really , I would have liked to have taken a punt on Aguero. Hopefully get an updated tomorrow or Tuesday

Not for me personally. Far too much money for someone so out of form in the PL at his price. I know he scored yday but I just couldn’t trust him.

He did **** all yesterday outside of the tap in. Not worth his price

Are you free hitting? Probably won't know about Spurs Villa till after the deadline

Mourinho wants it to be played

But Villa won't play it under the same circumstances as they did against Liverpool

Realistically I have to if the GW is going ahead, but if it was only one game going ahead I wouldn't bother if you get me.

I'm at 9 (down to 6 if Spurs game is off) with 1 FT. With no further news by early Tuesday I think I'll leave the FH. The other fixtures just don't justify it imo. Can get a third City player with the transfer, leaving very few I'd be worried about missing (Sterling, Rashford really)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,661 ✭✭✭greedygoblin

Presently I have 11 starters. If Spurs-Villa is off, I'm down to 8. If Welbeck & Taylor don't recover from their injuries I'm down to 6. If Clyne is benched (he's only starting every 2nd game lately) I'm down to 5. It's a bit of a headwreck to say the least.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,363 ✭✭✭Jim Gazebo

Son, grealish, Bissouma(suspended), DCL, Kilman(not a starter...) Bruno, Chris wood.

I know Chris wood could carry me through the gameweek but I think I'll free hit this evening as long as there's no other news, I would prefer to wait but I might not be able to do anything with it tomorrow or Tues :(

All very quiet lads. What's the consensus, what do people think is going to happen? Any good guesses on what games go ahead / don't go ahead?

I have to make my decisions today as I'm away for work this week and won't have the access to fpl, worst timing ever!!

Tough one currently, I'm definitely FH'ing, the question will be whether to include Villa/Spurs players or not. I'm happy with my team either way, once we know for sure before the deadline. If we don't then it gets tricky.
    - Do I play it safe and leave them out, and potentially lose ground if Son/Kane play v Villa's kids.
    - Do I put in Spurs players and risk it being called off and relying on Smith-Rowe and Mitchell if it is called.

I'd probably go with one Spurs player (Son) as a compromse, mainly as a blocker as I know everyone has him

First proper mock up of my FH team this afternoon, previously mentioned I'm going with the assumption that Spurs Villa will be called off hence I haven't included anyone.

Darlow (Ramsdale) Gone with the two starting GK's in the SHU/Newcastle game and intend to start Darlow. I would go for Dubravka only I've 3 Newcastle already.

Tierney, Cancelo, Shaw (Clark, Mitchell) Tierney looks to be in good form, an assist last night and a real threat going forward. Good wingback. Was a toss up between Cancelo and Dias but feel Cancelo has a higher ceiling. Should start right...? Shaw I'm not overly happy with and may swap out. (I want somewhat of a playing bench. Yedlin will most likely start at least and Mitchell I'm 50% confident he'll play, hopefully won't be needed and an enabler at his price)

    Sterling, KDB, Bruno, Saka (March)

I was going to punt on Gundogan but feel there is just too much potential with KDB and Sterling. Hoping they run riot. Fernandes is a no brainer for me. Saka has been in decent form lately and gold at his price. (March the bench fodder for 2 points should anything happen)

    DCL, Lacazette, Wilson

I found the forward line tough. DCL not in form, Lacazette in form but I'm not confident owning him and Wilson is Wilson, he should be scoring against SHU. No one else standing out for me in that forward line. Would love to punt on Martial/Cavani but too risky IMO. Toyed with the idea of Rashford in midfield but funds wouldn't allow it.

Would appreciate any comments/feedback positive or negative! :D

I think the Villa-Spurs game will have to be called off given what's happened at Villa. The question then is does the Spurs-Fulham game get put into this gameweek?

Shaw is injured, according to the injuries thread. And I'd go Martial over DCL if funds allow. I'll also be assuming Spurs Villa is off when I FH.

I don’t think it really can at this short notice. I would say it’s at least 90% likely that neither Villa or Spurs have a game this week.

I don’t think Aubameyang’s price is a factor that much in a one off Free Hit team particularly if Son/Kane game is called off.

If you feel he is going to score then I’d stick him in

He should be on penalties and Palace is the sort of crazy defence that may just give few away. Lol 36 year old Cahill or crazy Kouyate. But none so crazy as Sakho

    Currently have:

    DDG (Sanchez)

    Cancelo Tierney Bogle (Clark, Mitchell)

    KdB Aubameyang Saka Bruno Traore

    Aguero Martial (Davis)

Aguero is there but given today’s news it could be a case of redeploying elsewhere & going with double City defence.

I think it is safe to say some sort of gameweek will go ahead. I am hitting the fh now so expect a cancellation imminently

The prices are moving so slowly that it honestly would be worth just waiting now.

Ah, quite the conundrum there with all the information likely to float around in the meantime. Would avoid Villa and Spurs if you have to set and forget today.

This article suggests the players who tested negative last Monday might play and a decision on the game will be made tomorrow - https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/aston-villa-tottenham-game-covid-19598598
