I had very similar this morning, but with white pudding instead of black. I tried Kelly's White pudding as recommended in the pudding thread, and it is lovely!

Interesting, can a meat processor make vegan products?

I don’t think they can , any vegans here confirm?
By buying their vegan products you’re essentially financing the killing machine :)

    Breakfast bagel sandwich

    Toasted bagel
    Ballymaloe relish
Two clonality sausages sliced down middle
    Free range fried egg

Crowd favourite in our house at weekends!

As long as there is no cross contamination, I can't see how anyone could stop anyone from producing vegan foods as long as the fsai rules are followed.

They can and they do. As well as the recent puddings / sausages, the company behind Bradys Ham did the production of a major Irish vegan brands products (under contract) as far as I know.

I mean, in my fridge right now is rudds vegan black pudding, rudds vegan white pudding, and rudds meat white pudding. I don't think i'm absolving anyone of meat related guilt. They happen to make an excellent vegan black pudding, better than any other veggie pudding I have eaten.

is it vegan though? i know it is by design but is it really? i guess only a vegan can answer
Veganism is a philosophy and way of living which seeks to exclude—as far as is possible and practicable—all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose; and by extension, promotes the development and use of animal-free alternatives for the benefit of animals, humans and the environment. In dietary terms it denotes the practice of dispensing with all products derived wholly or partly from animals."

    it's definitely not vegan

    it's definitely not vegan

    that's a definition of a vegan lifestyle , not a vegan product.

Peanut butter pancakes with fruit compote and banana.

First time I tried using aqua faba in place of eggwhites, and I have to say it worked really, really well.

Aqua faba ? As in chick pea cooking water ?
Did you swap it like for like (quantity) ) ?
And does it make a difference wether you use tinned or fresh ?

Very fancy pic by the way .... looks great

It was the water from a tin of chickpeas, and that was roughly the equivalent of 2 egg whites. I didn't really measure it out, as the recipe I used said to either use the water from one tin, or otherwise 2 eggwhites.

I'm not sure how you'd use fresh - do you mean boil the chickpeas yourself, and use the cooking water? I'm not sure that would get you the same results, but I wouldn't really know.

Potatoe Farls (cakes), used some excess mash potatoes, placed in bowl, finely chopped onion, oregano, egg yolk, sieved flour, mixed to create a thick dough like mix, formed scone like shapes, pan fried on both sides, baked for 15 minutes, delicious.

Is maith an scáthán súil charad.

The water from boiling chickpeas at home sets ... just strain the chick peas our ,and let it cool .almost like jelly ..
( I only asked because I wasn't sure you'd get that result with canned )

I've a new fried egg breakfast.

Roughly crush a handful of cashews and toast in a fairly hot pan, stirring for a few minutes.
Put aside on a plate, wipe out the pan and get really hot. Bit of oil and fry your egg to your liking. Really crispy on the bottom, unturned with a runny yolk, for me.
Plate the egg, toss the nuts back in the pan and stir with the bit of oil for a minute and spoon it over the egg. A generous squirt of sirricha to finish.
    Have with rice or toast.
It's feckin delicious and only takes a couple of minutes.

    Hi
Anybody have a delicious tasty way to cook porridge, trying to entice someone who normally doesn't eat it, they're getting braces so would be handy and ok for teeth too I think. Thanks
