Suggestion on what adhesive/glue to use

I have a little magnetic mobile phone holder that I want to stick to my dashboard semi-permanently (I want to be able to remove it but I don't want it to drop off on its own). Obviously I don't want to ruin a dashboard with superglue. I had it stuck on a previous car (with its supplied adhesive) but when I removed as expected the adhesive is "kapput". Any suggestions on what I could use - glue/silicone?

A weird'ish question but somebody might know.

You're probably looking for double sided tape rather than glue

Get a double sided adhesive pad in woodies. When you want to remove it, use a hairdryer to heat the area, it will reactivate the adhesive and it will come away cleanly.

3M VHB tape, it has a red backing that says 3M VHB, strong stuff but removable.

I agree, if you have to stick it down then this stuff is hands down the best out there.
VHB stands for Very High Bond, its used a lot for Car trims and the like so more than likely its already holding something in that car.
