Once you've added it to your library, which you've already done, you can download it again whenever you want.

    Oh brilliant. Thank you.

Is that not only if it's digitally purchased, rather than a download code from the disc version of MM, so it would still require the disc to verify the licence to play?

I think it might only be MM that's licence is tied to the disk in this instance, as I think you get the digital version of SM Remastered, and therefore it should always act as a digital game and not need to check the disk for the licence. But easiest thing to do would be try launch SM Remastered without the disk in the PS5 and see if it plays.

I've never needed the MM Disc in to play the remastered. I just had a digital code that was in the case. And then the disc for MM

It's free on PS Plus Collection.
Why did you spend €18 on it?

When was Days Gone free on Plus??

Edit: Googled it, obviously need a PS5 for it. My bad.

Having a weird issue with the Ps5.

Sometimes, not always, but if I put it in rest mode, it will sometimes shut down, and the only way to wake the console is to eject a disc. Power button or the controller don't generate a response.

I get the message then, once it is powered on, that console didn't shut down correctly etc.

Plenty of people have had weird bugs like this, I'm sure they will patch them out eventually.

Same things happens to me as well, I avoid rest mode now until it’s been sorted, hopefully in the next update or two. I was watching Netflix the other day and fell asleep, woke about an hour later to my PS5 completely shut off and a message saying it wasn’t shut down properly. I’ve switched off the options for the console to shut down after a certain amount of time so idk why that happened.

Cyberpunk currently installing. I'm looking forward to finding out just how "broke" this game is. :D

I put mine into rest mode on Saturday morning, resumeed no issues at all last night.

Mine goes into rest mode all the time. Never power it off fully. No issues.

It's happened to me two or three times as well. Always in rest mode, sometimes when I try to wake it with the controller, the controller just flashes and I need to hit the power button and go through the repair process.

It's broke on ps5, but not as bad as the last gen consoles. It crashes out every couple of hours for me, and then there is the weird stuff that happens in game like the t-posing or guns refusing to work, or people clipping through the floor that seem to be happening on all versions. It is playable, and quite good, even if it's obviously fairly far from 'finished'.

Stupid Question: How do I know if I’m playing the PS5 upgrade of a PS4 title?

I copied Ghost of Tsushima to the PS5 HD from my PS4 but is there a way to check that im actually playing the upgraded version?

There is no PS5 version of GoT, they just patched it to unlock the framerate on PS5. Just make sure you are playing with the latest patch.

Say with No Man's Sky. If you click on the info option when you hover over the game tile, it will give you the option of launching the PS4 or PS5 version. I'd imagine it's the same with other games

If there’s a full blown PS5 version which the developer must release. Otherwise the game makes use of the bump in specs and plays as backwards compatible

PS4 backwards compatible games FYI, can’t utilise the haptic feedback of the dualsense

This is a pretty good list

Witcher 3 is confirmed but I’d imagine that due to the mess of cyberpunk it’ll be inevitably delayed :)

I think they just gave it a vague 2021 date so they will probably hit that

    Hi All,

My little cousin is getting the PS5 from Santy on Christmas day. Should he expect there to be any big software updates taking it out of the box?

I was wondering if it makes sense to plug it in and set it up ahead of time in order for him to enjoy on the day?

    Thanks

Depends on how fast their internet is. There'll be a software update for the machine itself and most likely updates for whatever games they have for it.
Firmware update shouldn't take too long to download, took me around 15 mins when I got mine, but speeds may vary, especially on Christmas day

There's a pretty cool intro process when you turn it off for the first time but there are indeed updates not only for the system but the dualsense and some games.

If I had to choose, I'd bite the bullet and get it on and updated as the servers could be slammed on Christmas Day and the intro isn't important nor is it a glaring item that would be missed.

Or if you're ok with updating the Firmware manually, it would allow you to have the update downloaded and put on USB stick. So your cousin can enjoy the first time boot-up himself.
You'll find the FW and simple instructions here.

If he’s getting it from Santy, then he might wonder why it was opened unless you’re able to put it back and he won’t notice

I’d say it’ll be grand, it’ll take time to set up but it’s not too bad, personally I’d say stick it in rest mode (so updates etc are downloaded) and head for dinner, off to grannies etc and when you come back to it, downloads will be done. Some people have issues with rest mode but I haven’t had one and I use rest mode regularly.

By mid afternoon all the downloading and faffing around with it will long be forgotten

The problem with opening it early is the outer boxes rip easily. My PS4, PS VR and PS4 Pro boxes all ripped a bit while trying to get the box out of the outer sleeve/box, even when being careful. It helps to open it up upside down though so it slides out. Just an FYI to anyone considering. Maybe I've just been impatient :)

Hi all, at the moment my PS4 account is set up on my name as it was originally my ps4(not anymore :-) ).

I got PS5 for Christmas so looking to create 2 accounts(one for me and second for my son) and transfer over games and saves separately. Would it possible to transfer data from single PS4 account to 2 different accounts on PS5? So for example minecraft game and save goes to his account and fifa to my? Hope that makes sense. Thanks a lot.

Your PS4 account should be your PS5 account.
The saves on your PS4 account are locked to that account.
    You can't split saves.

If you create 2 new accounts on your PS5, you lose access to your games on your PS4 account.

I plan on transferring my account from ps4 to ps5, but if I create another one for my son on ps5 will he be able to play games purchased with my account?
