How many on here have been blocked by Dim Tim this evening?

I liked a tweet that called out his "offer" for what it is and he promptly blocked me. 5 mates of mine have also been blocked this evening. What an utter flute.

Followed by him and Ah Ref this evening

    Heady heights

Edit: I see he’s deleted all his commentary tweets about the offer

The Foley guy was really interesting. One point stuck with me.

If mayo are in Dublin faces and it's close or even mayo ahead in the last few minutes, will Dublin have the fight in them to mount a comeback. Especially after getting the 5 in a row.

Of course they will, without a doubt they will not stop until the final whistle!

I think we are 3 days out from an All Ireland final and should not be giving guys like this any air time. He is not from Mayo and no real Mayo supporter would be doing this the week of a final.
That Kevin Mc Stay article was fantastic. He truly captured what it means to be a Mayo supporter. Nice also to hear some of the old Mayo songs being taken out of cold storage for the week that's in it. ' don't wave the white feather' anybody?

Not being from Mayo has nothing to do with it. There is plenty people like him from all over the world whose parents or whoever connected to them are from Mayo. They all want to see the same thing we do! He seems to want to publicise himself more than anything else though!

You are right we shouldn't be giving him air time at this stage. In other good news he seems to have deleted his twitter again!

Good point putting unneeded pressure on management and players. What if some are hoping for that 'bonus' etc

Why not have some enthusiasm. Things in our favour.

    1) A December Final: The heavy pitch and the conditions might stifle the game a little. That could work in our favour.

    2) No supporters: We don't have to kick into a Hill 16 that would have normally been a sea of blue. Cillian also doesn't have to put up with jeering when taking frees. That takes a small advantage away from Dublin

    3) Underdogs: The pressure is off to a certain extent. The bookies have us at 9/4. We're certainly not expected to do too much on Saturday.

    4) New blood: Players like Mullen, Conroy and McLoughlin coming into the side. Dublin will have watched the tapes but won't have faced them before. They'll bring a lot of enthusiasm and fresh legs to a team that look spent in the second half of last year's semi- final

    5) Cillian: He looks as sharp as we've seen him in years. A crucial player for us and he is on fire coming into Saturday.

    6) Battle Hardened: We've had a more competitive run up to Saturday - the Connacht Final for example. Whereas Dublin have been in second gear without any test. It can be a hard thing to switch on from a Dublin point of view. A vs B games just aren't the same.

    7) Horanball: He's not going to do a Micky Harte is he? It could backfire but I don't see the point in trying to spoil the game and contain them. Horan will set us up to have a go at them and that's the right thing to do.

    8) Revenge: That's a strong word but it's long overdue and it will come someday. There's plenty on the current Mayo team that know that.

    9) Desire. Six in a row would be some achievement and Dublin will be going all out for it but it pales in comparison to what we're going for. That can't replace skill or ability but a highly motivated team with the shackles thrown off can be a dangerous animal.

    10) Faith: I'm not one for sentiment or superstition but it would be the year that we would win it. No fans in the stadium because of a global pandemic and not being allowed to take home the trophy.

There's a few thin ones there that stretched it to 10! Anyone got anymore? :D

Point 5 is the most important and the one that would have gotten us over the line in one or two of the other finals
People underestimate just how important he is to us even outside of his scoring
    I believe I believe I believe

    Soundtrack to my week!

You made a believer, out of me...…

It's a Mayo song, without being a Mayo song.
Something very primal kicks in when supporting Mayo and let's hope the screams are heard around the County on Saturday evening.

I may have peaked too soon!

Let's hope that Radiohead isn't on loop next week.

Absolutely, he's a leader for us now. Hopefully he brings his A game on Saturday and gets plenty of good ball. He needs the other forwards to keep their men busy too.

This build up has been mad. It just sort of dawned of me this morning that we've an All Ireland to play on Saturday.

    11) Dublin don't seem as 'switched on' as normal, passing accuracy, speed of thought - carelessness creeping in

    12) Dessie Farrell untested when under pressure on sideline (genuinely I am curious how he will react if he has to make unplanned calls)

    13) Five in a row done - Dublin seem less motivated as 'five in a row' was viewed as the holy grail. It is as if the summit has being reached and six won't make much difference now. If Dublin were going for five now everyone would be geared up.

    14) Mayo should use the high ball better than Cavan did, and have decent pacey support for O'Shea

    15) Less pressure on Mayo than usual - fancied chances in 2012,2013, 2016 for example.
But not given much expectation this time. A newly built Mayo team, against bookies hot favourites. Sounds like the 1975 AI when Kerry caught Dublin out.

Throw in no crowds and the lowest key build up I have ever known. Mayo should be relaxed. Feels like an FBD match or O'Byrne cup build up.

I would say it could be argued Mayo have no real pressure on them this time.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

As an outsider, this is the one for me. Mayo are at their best when they've been written off. It could have been debated before 2016 or 2017 finals that they were possibly marginally ahead of Dublin (whichever way we look at it, the two teams were neck and neck).

Look at last year, they get knocked out by Roscommon in Connacht, and get mauled by Kerry in the Super 8's opener. Many in media circles wrote them off against a Donegal that had been flying all summer, and mayo were just generally unfancied going into it, but by Christ were they up for it on the day.

They were possibly unfortunate with the scheduling last year, given the physicality that was required to beat Donegal and that Dublin/Tyrone could afford to take things a bit easier. This is possibly reflected in how Mayo were well in the game for the 1st half of the semi, but wilted after half time. Dublin were deserving of their victory of course, but the10 point margin was probably a tad harsh on Mayo in the end.

I think we'll have a very competitive final on our hands here, and whoever comes out on top will be worthy winners.

I was at the recent Dublin v Mayo finals, and even the Donegal v Mayo final (which was extra tense in the build up because neither had won for years).

But the tension in Mayo finals seems extremely high in all of them. It really is ramped up when Mayo play, fans are balls of nerves/hyper/excited.

It must be suffocating for the players. At least now with social distancing etc the Mayo players are given a bit more space, literally and mentally.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.
