Let’s be honest we all mostly used them once then are never touched again LOL same with the eating stuff it’s all just fluff

Plus you can’t even see your character

I feel like that's making excuses. CDPR are the ones who talked about customisation and how the game is dripping with style. Right, but a huge part of the appeal of Cyberpunk is the aesthetic and you can't even get a haircut or go to a tattoo parlour?

Customisation, mini-games etc may be fluff but it's fluff that contributes to a game world feeling more alive. In GTA: San Andreas, I remember playing pool, going to the bookies, to the casino, playing arcade games, playing basketball, dancing, street-racing, going to the gym, breaking into houses, customising cars, getting fat, getting buff. How much of that is in CP2077? CDPR are the ones who boasted about a living breathing world with "over 1000 Cyberpunk 2077 NPCs with handmade daily routines" It's not people's fault if they find the world a little shallow.

If anything, the genital "customisation" is the biggest trick they pulled. It got headlines all over and made people think "Wow, you are going to be able to customise everything and anything in this!" but you can't even get a haircut.

It’s definitely easy to understand why the game is struggling - it’s a complex, next-gen thing and I’ve sympathy for the developers trying to cram it into seven year old boxes. But the game’s for sale for full price on Xbox One, and honestly simply shouldn’t be if the video above is anything to go by. This isn’t even a case of a game having big drops under pressure, which are understandable to some degree - the very best case scenario here seems to be borderline unplayable, while still looking like absolute crap :pac:

Totally agree with you, im just saying it was always going to be a mess on these consoles.
It was never going to happen but a cheaper price might have softened the blow somewhat and probably the most fair thing to do.
So in general its bad form from CDPR asking full price for a half baked game.

Can't wait to upgrade my hardware because my Gtx 970/2200g setup is really struggling at times when driving, and I have had to go to a mix of medium/low graphics in 1080p. I'm "blessed" a little here though because my eye for detail is truly woeful at times so I'm not noticing poor textures etc much.
Same as me - I'm on a 970 too but don't really notice the absence of textures as affecting gameplay even if can go "oh that's pretty!" if they're present.

Did you find out a good balance on graphics settings? So many options to fiddle with.

These are the things that are annoying me more than the bugs and quirky issues which can be fixed over time.

I'm enjoying the story and I do find the game fun, but does anyone else feel like the world is just sort of lifeless? The AI is terrible. It doesn't live up to my expectations of a 'living city'. The whole crime system is woeful too in my view.

Decent game with a great story and some fun elements in my view but it's not even approaching GOTY territory for me. The built up expectations are probably impacting my view of the game, tbh. Just feel a little let down by the whole thing. A lot of what was promised just isn't there. It seems to me that a lot of things were torn out of the game in recent months because they probably just weren't working right.

Took a map mission and found a man that had taken over a tv station where he used to work. I was supposed to talk him out of anything silly and a car was to pick him up. The car never arrived for him. I just left him standing. A few blocks later I turn around in the van and there he was.

Will it be the whole game he's with me? I wonder.

Deus Ex Mankind Divided was an excellent game too, although the story was a bit convoluted, the world/level design was really rich. Would highly recommend it and it’s on sale for close to €5 on the PS Store.

Yep it was a great game too in fairness although it’s sequel was ridiculously short and really pissed me off.
If you’ve never played the original it’s a real pity.
It truly was an incredible game at its time overshadowed by Half life.
For me it was far superior to half life.

Played a bit more of cyberpunk last night and still a bit meh:

I think the scale and ambition of this project ultimately led to it's downfall. There's certain sections of the game that show real polish, craft and storytelling. On the other hand the city while it looks nice is sparse and dull in many places. That's before you get to the bugs and glitches. It's certainly a mixed bag. I'd be intrigued to see what they can do when the PS5/Series X version comes out, but I also have a lot of sympathy for anyone trying this on the base PS4/Xbox One.

I'd rate my experience a 7/10 on PS5 so far.

I found out he stays in the van. I'd have to keep the same van the entire game to keep him.

Anyone else downloaded the 1.0.4 patch on PC yet? Everywhere I read said it was 15GB in size but GoG only put it at 500MB which is a pretty substantial difference.

Delta patching Vs downloading any file that changed perhaps.

It was clear from day one that there was a very big possibility those machines would struggle with this title, devs have performed minor miracles to get some games playable on those machines in recent times but this was always going to be a step too far imho.

Should they have made the game on those machines?
It depends on the dev i suppose but for sure CDPR will get a lot of stick over this.
They were always going to do so and cash in.

Tbf, there's a limited edition cyberpunk 2077 Xbox one X available to buy. If this game wasn't being made to be playable for current gen consoles, that's a rather fair slap in the face.

The Witcher was a technically flawed game that had a compelling quest line and excellent side quests, with other points of interest that were actually interesting. It wasn't the usual RPG with decent main quest but mundane side quests (go here and kill x things).

A lot of the complaints you read about this game (aside from the perf ones) shouldn't really be surprising to anyone who played the Witcher. Combat and movement are dodgy? No surprise. The menus suck? No surprise.

Disapointing start for CDPR. There was something about consoles in that last 'The game is delayed' messege they sent out. I don't know what happend to them there.

Me, I don't have much to complain about. I'm running a Vega 64 and it grunts this along with no issues. *phew

I was expecting more random missions all over the the map myself. And I did expect that the majority of npc's would be interactive.

Any help for me on this issue?

I'm stuck on the 'Disasterpiece' braindance (Love that mechanic btw). According to the guides I have the 3 clues I need scanned. The cup, the box on the table and the patch from the suit. Yet, I'm not getting the promt to exit.

I seem to be only one that has this problem.

Amazingly (on PC anyway as that's what review keys they gave out) its currently at 90 on metacritic. How in hell it is with so many technical issues is beyond me.

Apologies if this has been asked a thousand times but if I buy a PS4 version and have PS5 - will I get the next gen update for free when released or are they shipping actual PS5 copies for sale as a standalone unit?

The technical issues aside, a huge amount of feedback reported suggest that the core mechanics are quote poor anyway.

So even when bugs are fixed, the core game is nowhere near a 90 score methinks...?

Don't bother selling any of your junk. Just disassemble each item into parts then sell that part. Make 2/3 times as much on each item..

Ah jaysus. Wish I knew that!!!

Played about 2 hours or so. Its okay. Didnt come across any bugs (bar Jackie sitting on thin air in front of his chair rather than on it), but the game just feels quite bland and cumbersome. The menus and perks are an ungodly mess, driving is awful and the hacking/stealth just seems so unbalanced. I might wait for the proper PS5 upgrade to come out and give it another shot then. At least some of the kinks might be ironed out.

I feel exactly the same, the game just isin't clicking with me. I might return to it in the new year.

Bug found on AMD CPUs, can be fixed with a hex editor.

Speculatively, might be affecting the consoles, too.

Clocking in about eight hours, I'm not seeing many technical issues - bar one person sinking into the floor - but definitely agree on the NPC element. Talk to any random person and you might get one simple line, if that. It's no better than I got in 'Watchdogs' which I was just playing and that's from 2014. It doesn't really feel like the world I had hoped to see.

Even in some of the battles on the small missions, I've been able to just stand outside of a doorway and gun the enemies down as they walk through. It doesn't feel like any progress in the AI.

I think my focus will be the main story and some of the side quests and trying to do it in a stealth/hacking manner for some variety. I certainly don't expect updates to start populating the world or making NPCs more interactive - most of the work will be bug fixes for a while yet.

God, imagine being so personally invested in a yet to be released video game that you hurl horrid abuse at someone who lightly criticised it... and then, in the end, to wind up with just another mediocre open world video game :pac: The inevitable moment of realisation and disappointment must be quite the thing.
