    Hello,

I have just bought a used 7th Generation iPod touch which is in perfect condition.
When I connect it to my iMac 2011 running High Sierra (iTunes 12.8.2.3), it doesn't show as a device.
I have checked in "about my mac" and the iPod shows as an attached USB device.
Hopefully someone might be able to help!
    Thanks.

Try a different cable. Also, clean out the Charge port with a needle.
