    Well lads!!

    tried loggin onto my pc the other day and no start bar or icons came up on the desktop!! Any reason why this could be??? I have updated our virus scanner and all but no joy!! You can go the Crtl, Alt + Del menu and run your programs from there!! all the files and folders are still there!!

    What OS?

    Ctrl-Alt-Del. File-->New Task-->
    Type in "explorer.exe". Come back and tell us what happens :)

    all the programs run through Crtl - Alt Del -> New Task!! Im using Windows XP. That 'explorer.exe' command didnt do anything but i can use explorer and all from the desktop, if you browse the files from the run command!!!

    Explorer.exe is your startmenu et al, not Windows Explorer.

    Reinstall windows if this ain't working!!!
