True, and also social media's role in this. It's been a slow descent into the gutter. I fear Ireland will follow in the not too distant future..as will all of Europe. Kier Starmer in the U.K. gives me some hope, a more moderate left candidate to pull sides together.
Biden was seen as a good centre candidate, and has quite a bit in common with the likes of John McCain, and previous moderate Republican candidates. If only he was a bit younger, perhaps he should have ran in 2016 instead of Hillary...

Biden in times gone by could easily have been a Republican politician, let's not forget part of Obama's motivation for having him as VP was to appeal to conservative minded Democrats and centrist Republicans. Bipartisan appointments at cabinet level used to be the norm. Trump has destroyed that.

That really is disgusting stuff. Just goes to show that it doesn't matter who gets elected. Obama, Trump, Biden, whoever, it will still result in other countries getting flattened and thousands dying.

"Plenty of proof - just check out the Media" sums up his way of thinking pretty well.

Pretty ironic he's now desperately depending on Fake News !

Pennsylvania Attorney General on CNN is having none of Trump's nonsense.

The fact he's specifically noting he's only challenging states that Biden recently won shows it's not about proof, it's just challenging the results because he doesn't like the results.
Some high quality memes below that one!
Love the pointing spiderman one ha

Biden might be just out of luck in Georgia... it’s going to be ridiculously close though.

The astonishing thing is that Trump is likely to exceed Obama's popular vote of 2008. He will never shut up about that.

His voters are motivated, maybe even more than Obama's supporters ever were. He tapped into a very dark side of the populace, and that won't just disappear.

Lol Trump spokeman to the press "Listen you're here to take in information" when questioned by the media the conference.

"Pennsylvania election officials plan to hold a news conference this afternoon. Democrats here are increasingly confident that Biden will have a big lead when all votes are counted." - NYT

Sounds like there won't be an announcement at noon :(

Trump needs Georgia to keep his frustration and obstruction efforts on the road. They'll quickly run out of steam without a win there.

A pause on 35,000 votes to be counted in Philadelphia due to a legal challenge - they wont be counted until tomorrow

If Biden wins, and that's looking like a near certainty unless Trump can pull a huge political stroke, then it's not really an endorsement of him as much as it's an indictment of Trump. Biden would, in any normal election, be a massively whitebread uninspiring candidate. Just a basic old white guy who you figure will side with the big guy in the end. It's been enormously helpful for Biden that he's been running against a lot of people who are profoundly disturbed by Trump. Trump is as much of a conman as those he accused of being conmen in Washington and has no scruples about playing off fears to gain power. In terms of basic human decency, every American president I've seen looks to chart very high compared to Trump, no matter what their policies were. Trump just does not care.

I think Trump will be back, though, one way or the other, either himself or someone he's endorsed.

Pittsburg won't process the rest of it's ballots until after 5PM on Friday due to a legal challenge.

Could be approx 55k in Georgia altogether.

Legal challenge in PA now according to CNN which is stopping counting in PA in one county of approx 30k ballots. Will resume counting tomorrow.

Saw that, reporters laughing and they wouldn’t give their name.

Watching CNN earlier, they're might have been a mix up with mail in votes in PA - a couple thousand were sent out twice to voters, potentially leading to problems. Unsurprising the Republicans would challenge that. Everyone wants to see a fair count.

They are actually in Pittsburgh which is Biden's currently 60%-40%.

GA lead for Trump down to 14,765 now with 98% reporting.

cant speak for anyone else, but my reason for supporting him is that i fundamentally disagree with political correctness, cancel culture, all that sort of stuff that seems to be mainly the purview of the left. and he was willing to take that on. in a lot of ways i realise what a gob****e he is, but those above mentioned things are way beyond trumps bad points (IMO) and politics for that matter.

He's done him or the Republicans no favour long term by his efforts to stop the count or disenfranchise voters. That will be used against them in future elections.

The best way to win future elections is be gracious in defeat.

If only one thing has been established in the last 36 hours by Trump, it is that that statement is untrue.

Just under 122k gap in PA now. Biden shrinking the gap again.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,966 ✭✭✭accensi0n

CNN still saying 60k remaining in GA. So was the 200k bogus?

Trump down to 121K lead in PA.

Sounds so dodgy. Wouldn't be surprised if some dems were desperate enough to try shenanigans, then pointing to Trump's personality and "the alt right" to try and dismiss calls of foul play.
