Is there any chance that neither Trump nor Biden will win and they have to have a re-election with decent candidates?

Hopefully a new American will be born from the endless rancour

That is likely impossible without making some much needed changes to the constitution and electoral process, but they set the barrier for altering the constitution too high.

Trying to make out Biden as being anti-police is hilarious :D.

I think all the people trying to make out Joe Biden as some kind of radical socialist is laughable. He is a center right democrat. Trump is just so far to the right, that some people actually fooled themselves into thinking Joe Biden is left wing.

How the Democratic establishment have managed to get one of their guys in power is pretty impressive in fairness. I thought when they screwed over Bernie in 2016 that their grip on power was over. However they've managed to straddle the middle ground between the loony identitarian lefties, and the more right wing Trump, and persuade people that they were neither of those things.

The potential of two special Senate elections in GA is intriguing. There will be one in January anyway, but David Perdue not home and hosed. It raises the possibility of a VP casting vote.

Sadly it will require a high bar for Trump to concede, he is not the type to go down without a fight especially with so many razor-thin margins in pivotal states, I don't blame him - a huge number of people voted for him, he must fight hard for them

It's close at the moment in the counting of votes in a couple of places. Perfectly possible yet for the EC votes to be 306 to Biden and 5+ million difference in the popular vote though when it's all over with.

Despite the goings on today with it not being clear yet, it might be a very clear victory for Biden, or very close EC vote for Trump and a loss on the popular vote.

Stop the count is a call to his yahoo's to mobilise. I expect tensions will significantly ramp up today.

Yes the language around that is needlessly pious, "founding fathers" and all that palaver rendering what is essentially a legal document written a few hundred years ago in vastly different times as sacred as the ten commandments are to christians, a tough sell but someone has to have the bravery to set that debate in motion

McCain was a good man. He could have been a good president to try and bridge the divide of the country.

Nevada and Arizona = Biden President?

Yes. If Biden takes both of those states, he hits 270 and wins.

He won't concede, he'll fight it in court or wherever he can and then he'll claim to the day he dies that he was unfairly beaten.

The main reason I think Biden might win is that Trump is so desperate to stop all votes from being counted.

Trump should keep his mouth shut, as he could still win this legit, even if its looking unlikely. Even if he does win, he taints his victory, due to all the attempts to tamper with the results.

Yup but I don't believe Biden will win Nevada. I think Trump will win Georgia, bookies are wrong on that one.

It will be quite funny if Georgia gets called for Biden this evening, putting Fox News in the position of declaring Joe Biden president while CNN will still have him on 269.

Wondering what exactly it is that he really means when tweeting this:

    "STOP THE COUNT!"

How does that translate into English as something other than stop counting votes?

    Which count?

All of them or just the ones where he's still ahead?

If you stop all the counts , he has lost.?
