    Part of the MAGA cult is to deny what is right in front of you. I mean we see that with the election results. Last night in Ohio they counted the mail-in ballots first and then they did the in-person election day votes afterwards. That showed a big lead for Biden initially from the mail-ins but then that was eroded and eventually Trump overtook Biden when the election day votes came in. It was all high fives and celebrations from the Trumpists.

    Now that the shoe is on the other foot, like in Michigan, where they counted the election day votes first overnight showing a Trump lead and the mail-in votes today which has since eroded that lead, the Trumpists are crying foul and whining about conspiracies etc.

    That Michigan vote thing looks dodgy as ****. Twitter is blocking anyone sharing the original but it keeps getting replicated. There needs to be an explanation by somebody within the state.

    Well I am glad that's over.

    I do hope that Biden is a good president. I have my doubts but I can hope. Let's hope the media continues to put the office of the president under as much scrutiny as they have for the last 4 years.

    I honestly don't enjoy people being upset, for any reason. But that's fundamentally the difference - there are posters here who freely admit the only reason they like Trump is spite. That's his only appeal, a petty, hollow, awfulness on behalf of awful people. He has nothing else to offer and doesn't pretend to.

    The GOP gave up on actually meaning anything long ago. They don't even have any policies to speak of this time around, which says it all - they've committed entirely to "we won't make your life better, but we will ruin everyone else's for you" as a voter bargain.

    I think politics should be about trying to build something rather than screw somebody else. I won't feel bad for them or their supporters, but I don't take my satisfaction in the fact they lost. I will be happy as larry if Trumpists - apart from guys like DeJoy who straight up broke laws - want to lick their wounds privately, let them at it.

    I'm just glad that something better might win for once and they have one less way to make life harder for everyone else.
