Drive mode is switched to 'Wet' - I've no idea how this affects the car on what looks to be a dry road. But if it's even a bit damp, they are slippy with all the oil and diesel dripping on them. I think when he hit the accelerator the wheels skidded sideways on the bridge expansion strips here. This is IMO what caused the initial slip, but he was going too fast and he's no professional driver, so he lost it.

Not the cleverest thing to do in an urban area, he could have killed or seriously injured someone. Cars are too powerful these days for almost all drivers. I think they maxed out at 500 bhp with 4WD weighing about 1.8 tonnes for the average driver. They rely far too much on electronic aids above that and they are not infallible.

I agree but look what happens to the steering wheel before the loss of control. Gears down or up and it turns right like it has a mind of its own.

I just stumbled across this guy who does a character called 'Malachy Murray' out and about interviewing people in different places throughout Ireland. Kind of a mix between Terry Wogan and Mike Murphy with a bit of comic campness thrown in. Thought it was very well put together.
