I'm happy that they're not using An Post exclusively anymore. An Post used to be great but in the last few months parcels are always late for me.
All courier services have seen delays over the last few months to be fair as online sales have rocketed since Covid struck.

Spent over €400 today on stuff I don’t really need. At least I got the £10 off, so there’s that. Roll on tomorrow.

My postman, who is a great guy, told me last week that An Post had been informed they were losing the Amazon account and that Amazon had a fleet of 160/170 vans at their new warehouse location ready to take delivery inhouse themselves as it would be both cheaper and quicker.

It didn't click with me immediately but when he confirmed to me that (in his estimate) 75% of the parcels he carries in his van are Amazon parcels. With that sort of volume it's not surprising Amazon would have the volume to run their own dedicated delivery service.

I just got a An Post deliverybox installed so I wouldn't miss any prime deliveries. Even with working from home and having a wifi doorbell, sometimes they were being delivered before I get up.

I did have a delivery go astray, misdelivered, but after chasing up with an post for over a week, who finally told me to get on to Amazon, the Amazon chatbot just re-ordered for me without any human intervention.

    Great, any limitations?

I seen posters have since recommended the Power XL and Cosori on the Appliances forum so wasn't sure what to for

    Only limitation is size.

Food forum has a thread here:

Snap! Seems a bit redundant now, doesn’t it?

Plus my postie keeps forgetting his key and has to ring the bell, or jams letters between it and the wall! And the email notifications of deliveries take hours to come through. And everyone else is confused by it.

Looking forward to all the hilarity next week as amazon decide to deliver my 3 orders in about 1.4 gazillion separate packages.

Yep, had a quick check of upcoming deals about 20 minutes ago and same ol' ****... unless we get another meaty misprice.

Best stuff is gone or already being advertised I reckon.

Really disappointing. Thought a few more whiskies might have gone up.

    Cheap laptop to replace Chromebook
    Wireless mouse
    Wireless headset
    Laptop bag
    Water flosser
    Power bank
    Dashcam
    Memory card

All in something under £250...damn just remembered I forgot the WiFi extender I'd been watching :D

Better Prime Day than last year for me but then again I bought nothing last year I think.

    - Ring Smart View Cam (-£0.00 as will return as not compatible with door! :()
    - 1080p Projector (-£10.99)
    - Blink Mini (-£14.99 though Alexa)

So a projector for 99p (thanks to £10 topup bonus) and a £15 camera is the extent of my spending.

Oh, and did throw in a rake of Lindt Chocs with this months Subscribe & Save. Probably £3 each for a 200g box.

    3 purchases for me today.

    Box of celebrations
Fire stick for a work project
    Pack of 3 WiFi plugs

As I flick to my orders page and check on the status a pang of guilt strikes me as I think of the people busting their balls all night shipping all this sh!t for everyone.

If any of you are working at Amazon and reading this. Thank you .

Small toy ice cream cart set for £13.77 once you use the additional on the £5 voucher.
Might make a nice present for smaller kids

Order through alexa. If you don't have an echo device. Download alexa app on your phone. Then say "Alexa, order a blink mini camera".

If you want to save up to 2 hours of footage to their servers, you need to continue the sub which is free until 31st March '21. If you just want a camera to view live then you don't need the sub.

Apart from that, they're selling a new add on to store video to a USB with no sub, coming soon, for £34.99 https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08BJ9ZCZC

Wonder why I can see and purchase an ancestry dna kit if I use the PM address, but It doesn't even show in the search results if I use my own address. Wouldn't mind but I have purchased them from Amazon in the past and had them delivered here.

Not the same experience here. Timely delivery, great notifications and a postman I know by name who will hand packages to me directly.

EVERY other service is a lottery. I’ve had items seemingly thrown over my wall into my garden from a passing van. Just today, an O’Neill’s order appeared , package opened, from a stranger who received it in error. Not even a neighbor, some unknown person who took the time to deliver it.

I’ll miss the an post service.

Am sitting here as a postie, who has his first time off this week since February and first I have heard of re us losing Amazon, hopefully this is only for the big cities but hope am wrong on that too.... Word is An Post have lost Smyths Toys too, so this would be complete kick in the you know where.. Amazon would be 80% of our parcels and we do make sure the recipient is informed re where there parcel is.... The couriers are probably under costing An Post but as said in above message, I have seen parcels sopping at front doors, throw them anywhere as long as delivered(we would get written warning for doing that) .. But best was only last week where I landed at house and a dog was chowing on a leather skirt left in package at door by a courier.... Saying that, all couriers are not like that, some seem to change their drivers that often that their under pressure throw the parcels anywhere to speeden things up..
And God help the lads working this weekend, bound to be double the amazon parcels on Saturday for delivery..

An Post has been excellent for deliveries. Only time I ever had something go missing was with the other couriers. I hope Amazon stick with An Post personally.

I would have said the same as you before July. Maybe it's just my area but since then 80% of parcels that are too big to come with the postman take at least 2 days to arrive. Delays of 3 or 4 days are not uncommon either. I haven't had any delays like that with DPD, UPS or even Nightline. Thankfully I have managed to avoid Fastway recently.

It's obvious that An Post can't cope with the volume of parcels from Amazon so hopefully Amazon's own deliveries will ease the pressure.

I agree that the vast majority of An Post staff are great. The postman changes frequently in my area so it's hard to know them by name!

So did you topup by €100 twice on same card and end up with €220?

Having the exact same issue, my account was locked last night and the order cancelled by Amazon apparently as a result of suspicious activity.. if I search the particular item I get the "you ordered this item on 13th october" and can see the tracking status/order number (dispatching now, arrive Friday) but no notification that it's been dispatched yet. Money gone too and no word of a refund as of yet

My order was dispatched just now so hopefully yours is the same, did it update BKWDR?
